range, took a wrong step, and plummeted down a ravine, seriously injuring herself. Though
she survived, she has many scars, and wears a mask to hide the scars on her face. The other
scars she proudly shows off to anyone who will listen to her stories.

They never just "bullied" her, they scratched and bit at her, always tearing the skin away from her body, causing many scars to be left all over her body. Her scars are what reminds her not to talk to anybody, it's why she never speaks. People think she's mute, but she just doesn't speak because she's terrified of being tortured once more.
