Sweetnose Mastiffs are a large working breed that are guard, hunting, and companion dogs. They require a fair amount of energy, meaning they are not suitable for sitting in a home all day unless the owner expects chewed up furniture. Sweetnose Mastiffs are very affectionate and friendly, although generally intimidating; they are quite intelligent and are eager to please, making them a good pet for those in active lifestyles.

This Sweetnose was found a while ago in a pretty sad state. They weren't doing too great, and had injures on their tail that caused nerve damage, requiring the tail to be removed; it was trying to herd some farmers cattle when the farmer made the call to us. It was only for their pretty merle pattern that this kiddo wasn't accidentally mistaken for a coyote, which is a good thing- they're incredibly friendly and happy go lucky, with that traditional Sweetnose energy.
We're not quite sure about their past, but we know that they don't do well with storms or rain, and that they are a really picky eater. It's hard to get them to eat when they're stressed, so they need special care taken to keep them calm and stress-free around food times. They do really well with children, cats, and other dogs.
