Their PPS Friend ;; Sylvester/Pester“Come on, Kay! You're gonna miss it!” Pester instantaneously got a curt reply from his sister. “Don't call me that!” she snapped, “And
why are you taking me all the way out here tonight? You know I told grandma elder that I would help her with-” she was cut from him snorting, “Ka
yyyy” She wrinkled her face, “What?-and don't call me that!” she added quickly, “just, trust me on this ok? You'll be glad I took you up here!” she sighed, “Well hurry up then! I can't go faster because I don't know where I'm supposed to go.” he laughed, “Fine! But you have to keep up!” and he dashed off, “Sylvester!” She yelled after him, with no reply but a smirk as he rushed away she realized she’d have to run after him. Reluctantly she started to run after him, but the cool night air brushing through her pelt made her smile, and seeing pester almost trip over herself made her laugh. Sure he was a bit of a brat, but she loved him.
Out of breath, she had almost lost Pester. He had run out of the treeline too who knows where. Walking out of the treeline, she was instantly hit with a soft, yet bright, light- among a sight that met her look in awe. Colors of deep purples and a few scattered pinks swirled above them. Tiny stars twinkled overhead, so bright they seemed to outshine the moon. Finally, she brought her gaze down to to see Pester near the edge of the cliff looking out into the abyss of the night. “Told ya it was worth it.” He spoke out into the silence, a hint of mischief in his voice. She walked up and sat next to him near the edge. “I have to admit to you, this is pretty amazing..”
Extra ;;A viscet with a small bag of assorted glimmering trinkets stalked through the forest. She was silent, her eyes locked on unsuspecting prey. Lurk had been heading back to her cave with more treasures for her collection, but she was hungry. Right before she could snatch it, there was a large cracking sound. Her head popped up, annoyance clear on her face, though she was also confused. The crack sounded unnatural in the forest. A few moments later another crack resounded. Lurk perked her ears to find the source of the noise, eventually tracking down a large egg. It was a viscet egg, but no parents were in sight. She quickly spun around to leave the egg. She didn't want to get herself pulled into some kind of confrontation with the parents,or worse—have to take care of a viscling. She began to walk off leaving the egg alone, the parents would hear it soon. The further she walked the more the guilt built up until she reluctantly raced back.
The egg was partially cracked open, a small paw attempting to grip the outside of the egg. The other reached out a different hole as if reaching for something. Lurk rolled her eyes muttering something to herself. The viscling must have heard because a small chirp came from the egg and it nearly toppled over trying to reach Lurk. It scared her and she quickly set it back up. She began to carefully pull off chunks of shell, still complaining about how ‘this was the mother’s job.’ Eventually a small viscling with a rounded tail toppled out of the egg. She immediately crawled over to Lurk and pushed her face into her fur. Lurk flinched away from her at first in disgust. But with a sigh she stretched out her neck to grab the viscling’s scruff, holding it as far away as possible. She wasn’t going to take care of her, just take her to the village.
———For two weeks Lurk carries Kayla until she can finally walk——— “Walk faster!” Lurk snarled, swinging her head back toward the viscling behind her. “I’m t-trying!” the viceling stuttered, trying her best to keep up with Lurk. “If you don’t use your legs you will never be able to walk, and we will never reach the village. I don’t want to be stuck babysitting you forever,” Lurk muttered, ”I shouldn’t be stuck babysitting just because your parents didn’t want you.” The small viscling’s ears instantly drooped, but from the intense fear Lurk gave her by her glare, she continued to try and scamper after her.
———The viscets walked for many days until coming to about three days away from the village. Both of them are tired and hungry at this point. Lurk is annoyed at how long it is taking, and that she isn’t home already.———“Reach for it.” The small viscet looked like she was going to pass out, “But, I can’t!” Lurk shoved the small viscling roughly with her paw causing it to fall over, “Yes you can! You have to learn to use your hind legs properly before you can eat anymore—you’re too old!” The small viceling got back up from the sudden hit. Lurk sighed, “I should have left your useless life when I found it.” The viscling had no idea how to react—but something new clicked in her mind.
If I don't listen, I’ll be all alone.[i] With a great heave, she pushed herself to try to reach up to the berries Lurk held above her. Strong will for her life, pushing all her strength onto her back legs, she reached as far as she could, and she got it! She snatched the berries from Lurks grasp, sudden joy of accomplishment twinkled in her eyes, looking up to Lurk. Lurk looked down to on the small viscling, “Hurry up and eat. We don’t have all day.” The viscling’s twinkling eyes diminished, disappointment clear now. “What did i say?!” The viscling instantly started to eat her food hungrily, though she still felt somewhat empty. Just as she was finishing, Lurk continued on walking, barely waiting for the fatigued viscling.
———The village comes into view.———
“Look.” Lurk pushed through the brush, the small viscling trailing behind her. Excitement shown in her eyes as they bored upon what laid ahead of them.
Lurk Looked down to the viscling, sudden empathy hit her. “Well, I guess this is it,”
The viscling looked up to her, “I guess so...” And spun towards the village, Showing no means farewell, the viscling left towards the village gates. “Goodbye…” A strange feeling overcame Lurk, her tail lowered in disappointment with her ears drooped—What was this? Why was she waiting for the small one to at least look back at her? Lurk longed for a while for the small one to come back to her, but it never happened. Suddenly, 'I made her like me.' Saddened, she turned to leave, going back to the forest.
