What are Nile River Equids?

Nile River Equids (NREs) are a sub-breed of Mustangs who were discovered to be living in Africa. They tend to range anywhere from 12 hh to 16 hh, while there have been known to be slightly smaller or larger. These horses tend to be able to sustain themselves on a minimal amount of water and food, they can travel long distances and have extraordinary stamina. The people who discovered these animals found that they were extraordinarily friendly and the braided tails are a sign that the NRE is domesticated or belongs to another person.

Bailey received the bow as a present from a young girl at a riding school where she used to live.

Around the yard Bailey was known as the "kicker", she ended up being retired from lessons with in a year of coming to the yard but that didn't matter to Maddison. Maddy was about 12 years old when she moved to her new house which was only across the road from the yard which is a good thing for a pony mad pre-teen.

Maddison had weekly lessons at the yard and soon knew every pony, including Bailey. She had her favourite lesson horses sure but they were no match to the tobiano mare who resided in her stall, the girl and the kicker had a bond and everyone knew it. Maddy would sit outside the mares stall and talk to her when ever she could, stroke her soft nose and play with her mane.

Eventually the owners agreed that Maddy could help out with Bailey under strict supervision.

A few years passed and Maddy was invited to help take Bailey to the in hand showing event that was happening in the next village, she was ecstatic.

Maddison watched as a red ribbon was tied neatly in Bailey's tail, it was pretty but it lacked flair and didn't fit the sassy mare.

Later that year Maddison got the news that Bailey was to be sold, she cried and cried but knew that it was the best decision for her to go to an experienced rider who wouldn't waste her talents.
On the day she was due to leave Maddison came down to the yard to bid her farewells to her favourite pony and with her she brought a red satin bow.

The new owner was so touched by Maddy's and Bailey's connection she tied the bow onto the mares tail almost immediately and there it stayed for the rest of the day, and the day after that, and then weeks later she still had the red bow tied to her tail, if anyone tried to remove it for anything she would kick out.
