Paeus Name;; Gabriel nicknamed "Snowball" or "Frosty" by many, but prefers to be called "Winters"
How are they preparing for the holidays?;;
The great sphere of blue and green was rotating like a ticking time bomb, at least, to his belief. How could such a planet not have the basic snow year round, only on places so eerily quiet and distant from human lifeforms? Only floating in space and being greeted by the occasional frosted clouds satisfied his hunger, but he couldn't be in space anymore. It was like life-long love separated, really. Gabriel's eyes squinted as he rose into the great mammoths of white, the only place where he truly belonged. The suffocating heat made him uncomfortable nearer to land, so he usually stuck to the skies. No mountains were in sight, the lands flat and barren. Funny, how this was considered Christmas, because he couldn't find a speck of white on the ground. Taking in a deep breath, Gabriel huffed out, its puff visible and clear, but also sparkling pure. His form was starting to ache, now reaching as high up as he could, swimming up slowly with gills flaring gently. Abruptly, he breathed in the graying clouds never to make snow but rain and swam through them, scanning the ground and finally, he released the taken air, but the smallest batches of snowflakes appeared. Gabriel knew it wasn't enough, but maybe, somewhere, a little kid who has never tasted a snowflake with their tongue or even never seen any snow would have a chance to appreciate its grace.

He knew it was idiotic. Stupid, stupid, he knew and was told frequently by these alien kind, these Paeus who have never experienced cold and those who have never set foot on the home world. It was never going to be enough to make a difference, nor would snow ever meet the ground, it would turn to droplets and solemnly fall to the ground, merely slush at best. Still, he was isolated, no matter how much he stuck his head in one of those magical tubs of ice used by humans to store food or flew up to high elevations, Gabriel knew the difference between the homeland and Earth: the Paeus he grew to love, even if he was grouchy and grumpy back then, he missed them even more than the frigid weather.
Oh yes, he remembered quite frequently his past self on the home world, not so much into that holiday cheer. He took for granted the things he so longs for now. You see, the lands he lived on were "despicably cold" he would call them back then, always many feet of pure snow covering the mountains and enormous icicles towering over him in his cave. Huddled away in that blue cave he stayed with his family, never wishing to participate in a snowball fight or build a snowman. Gabriel shooed little Paeus away, getting sick and tired of the old traditions every time it snowed, and it snowed quite frequently.
...But now was different. He promised himself that before Christmas every year, that holiday that is always associated with such festivity and joy, he would try to get it to snow, whether that be by building some dollar-store budget machine or making trips to the clouds to give them a little push.

Quick note: In regards to the timeline of the species lore, this is about 15 years after the Paeus crash onto Earth, as a second generation of Paeus are born at least and Gabriel would be middle-aged, so then depending on a Paeus' life span and how long humans smarten up, Gabriel wouldn't live to see his home world again.
