Nile River Equid #50

Postby gull. » Thu Oct 06, 2016 5:35 am

What are Nile River Equids?

Nile River Equids (NREs) are a sub-breed of Mustangs who were discovered to be living in Africa. They tend to range anywhere from 12 hh to 16 hh, while there have been known to be slightly smaller or larger. These horses tend to be able to sustain themselves on a minimal amount of water and food, they can travel long distances and have extraordinary stamina. The people who discovered these animals found that they were extraordinarily friendly and the braided tails are a sign that the NRE is domesticated or belongs to another person.

Owner: HowlingHooves
Name: Steel Magnolia || Magnolia
Gender: Mare
Age: 9 years
Story: Magnolia is a jumper; she isn't afraid of anything that poses as an obstacle and this has left her the most challenging escape artist to try to temper. If she sees something she wants on the other side of her paddock fence, she's over it before you can even open your mouth to shout out a warning. She has yet to have leaped into any dangerous situation, but with such a bold personality it's only a matter of time; more creative methods of keeping her safe and from jumping the fences are a challenge to come up with each day.

Owner: NARANDA
Name: Malakuti (Arabic - "Divine") | Mala
Gender: Mare
Age: 5 Years
Story:
My sire was the tall one, but my mother was much shorter. Most of her previous foals had been closer to her height and none were so much taller, but I was different. As a filly, they thought I would be short like the rest of the foals, and they felt disappointing that I was a filly. It was obvious that they felt that way even though I never heard them say it myself. Boy were they wrong. I continued to grow and grow until I was seventeen hands high, closer to my sire's height. It was not a problem at first, it felt good to be tall. Rarely anyone tried to mess with me, jumping things became easy, and I could easily outrun my fellow herd members. Things were different in small spaces.
The stalls were small, at least they were for me. I could not and still can't stand the size of the regular stalls. I can't turn around or get comfortable, I sometimes even bumped my head when entering small stalls, normally at other stables where we are guests and it is the only stall they have. I prefer the larger stalls of rich stables, or stalls normally meant for nursing mares in some places. Reaching down to eat grass. Who knew being so tall would make it troublesome to eat grass. You may not see it as a problem, but I do, it is an annoyance really. Being somewhat clumsy is another problem I seem to have, I always knock things over, bump into things, people and other horses. It truly is a problem, especially when I accidentally knock over a child. I hate seeing children hurt or crying, it makes me feel horrible, so being clumsy is always one of the my greatest problems. Tack is another problem though, finding tack that properly fits me is not too easy, let alone tack that is comfortable. Larger the tack, the more expensive it is to buy or even to have it custom made.
I could come up with more of how my height affects me, but I do not wish to bore you into oblivion. But now you know my story, oh! Goodness! I forgot to introduce myself! I am Malakuti, but you may call me Mala for short! It is an honor to meet you and thank you for listening to me blabber on and on.

Owner: Galaxy Thoroughbred
Name: WRS I'm Not Tall You're All Just Really Short // L.E [ Low Expectations, Ironic Right ? ]
Gender: Stallion
Age: 8 Years Old
Story: Brong my new horse home and what do I find ? Oh, since all your other horses are 16 hands or under this horse is apparently way too tall for all stalls. So now Low Expectations has a custom stall with a taller entry and grander roof, the lucky duck. Oh and one more thing,w hat do I find when I go to groom my horse, oh, nope, can't groom him either. He's gigantic and now my poor toes have to be on point all the time just to brush the top of his neck. I'm sorry, yeah excuse me, do you know where the exit is from the ballerina class. Pssh who said you can't learn ballet from a horse ? I did, before he tricked me into it.
I've been on like a 6-7 month hiatus..... soooo to all that know me sorry. And Boop! I'm revamping??? Everything??? Idk what you would call it. I've found myself I think, through fan fiction, high school drama and a whole lot of maturing. Have a new room, new sense of humour, yeah. Ready to start helping the world. I think??? Still questioning my messed up life where I'm pretty sure my old cat is my spirit animal, I have a tea addiction (weak and sweet mind you!) and possibly building a author/ artist career??? There's a lot of question marks but that's life.

Always expect more questions than answers and you might just find yourself. xoxo
