Jayne blinked open his eyes, sunlight filtering through his makeshift den. Yawning, he stood up and stretched. Looking outside, a blue sky greeted him; it was a cloudless day and the wisps of smoke from last night's campfire were easily seen against the sky. His eyes blurry with sleep, he opened the bag he had brought with him last night and popped some caramel candies in his mouth. A leaf fell over his eyes and he shook it off. Blinking, things came into focus. "Good morning", he muttered to nothing in particular.
