How you greet the mare; I sleepily perched myself on the cliff side preparing to watch the sunrise as I do every morning. I had a shiny, red apple halfway up to my lips when I heard it; a ghost of a whinny. I slowly turned my head a was greeted with the sight of a beautifully red-tinted horse staring longingly at my apple.
"You want it?" I extended my arm slowly toward them afraid of spooking them away. They slowly walked up and delicately took the apple from my hand. They greedily munched on it and before I could even blink it was gone. They sniffed the backpack I had forgotten half a meter away; most likely looking for more apples.
"That's all I had, come back tomorrow if you want another." They snorted in understanding and began walking away as if they could understand every word I had said.
I turned back around and with a start realized that I had missed the sunrise completely. Oh well, time to get to work at the stables.

(Forgot the gender of the horse halfway through writing this, and I also have no NSWs in my stables currently so I have no idea what work I was talking about. Oh well!)
