Short story (min of 300 words) - The wind blew through the trees, as the howls of the moves were heard from the moon. The rose garden, once the emblem of light and youth stood as a sign of pain and darkness. The blood red of the roses stood from the looming castle, where the pipe organs played. The castle, known as Castle Angel to the outsiders, but as Castle Dyst to the villagers, loomed at the mountainside, where the water turned dark and the forest obscured with mist.
An angelic woman voice could be heard from the castle could be heard every full moon, as she called out for her lost love. She sung of his trips to the ocean, and the roaring surf. She also sung of her pain and sadness, from the day he died. The woman had hair more crimson than blood; her lips were the color of roses, and her skin paler than the moon.
There have been many people who tried to rescue the wistful, angelic young woman. The rumors of her singing, beauty, and hair were turned into the legends the great kind heard. Over the next week, he gathered his strongest warriors, as they went to charge Caste Angel.
The journey to the castle was long and hard, as many of the warriors died. After another week, they reached Eurtan, the town prior to the castle. The King and his men were given rooms, and the night fell. They heard the somber voice of the angelic pyre. The King, heartbroken from her song, went to charge Castle Dyst to save her. He saddled his ivory steed, he chased through the obscured forest alone.
The horse ran when bleached wraiths came from the trees. A young girl went to him, and pulled his mantel, as the King got up. She called to him in a solicitous voice to save the princess. As he promised to her that he would. The wraiths passed for him, as he laid his eyes on the eerie castle.
As the moon rose, the king heard the singing. His mind instantly agreed to the other villagers; about the angelic voice. The moment he arrived at the ruins, he knew something was up. The king was scanning the ruins. He heard the voice behind him; only to see a charred and horrid sight.
She was once very beautiful; he could tell that. Her hair; once a stunning white, from rumors of the town, was now burn off or the colour of ashes. Her voice deceived the King; as he stood frozen. The King felt her hand around his neck, as she growled when he got strangled.
Within the next second, however, the king lay dead at her feet. She released a smirk, before the clouds covered the moon, and she faded into night.
As the knights stormed the ruins of Castle Dyst, they found their king’s lifeless corpse. The body was merely bones. They looked for the culprit, as someone came from the shadows.
“Soldiers, you are now mine.”
The hooded figure said, as she then went back into the ruins, looking for something very importaint.
Once she came from the ruins; they saw she had on a large cape. They then traveled away, enchanted by her voice. She kept singing as the carried their attack on Eurtan. When the village elder ran to her, she called out hateful.
“Aaron of Dyst. You are charged for murder, mutiny, and theft.”
Her unwavering eyes watched coldly, as he was sent to death.
The queen still manages to reign today; under another alias. The kingdom burned, and everyone died in the inferno. No one knows who it was; and the genocide was masked by the higher forces, as they made a volcano erupt within the same day. This is the story of the evil Queen Helen, the name that some may know as Mount Vesuvius, the great volcano of Pompeii.
