▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃prized possession▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Ponyo's most prized possession was a small vial that contained the last few droplets of water from the 'Fountain of Youth'. His parents were the guardians of the legendary area, keeping enemies and unworthy beings away from it. The Fountain itself was a shrouded mystery, hidden deep in a sacred Japanese village home to a small Sleepy Dragon clan. Many of these Dragons possess rare fish traits, naturally making them excellent swimmers- Ponyo himself wasn't quite the skilled swimmer, he was slow in the water, and could barely catch any fish because of it. But the poor Dragon knows that within time and practice, he will become better.
The Fountain works... a bit wonky, for lack of a better word. It basically knows whenever the Earth is deteriorating, when it is becoming hotter or colder, whenever a war starts. The water in the Fountain slowly dries up whenever a disaster happens. As it has existed for millions of years, the water supply is almost empty at this point, and the Guardians knew all about it. Unfortunately, their souls are tied to the Fountain, Ponyo's included, meaning if there was no more water, they would die. It came as part of the contract of guarding such a place. The Guardians knew they were getting old and accepted the fate of death, but little Ponyo did not deserve to go in such a way.
The last few drops of water in the Fountain were grouped up in a small puddle, and the Guardians had to act fast to preserve it in case of another major disaster. They gathered the droplets in a small shatterproof vial, closed it with a cork, and strung it on a long piece of plant fiber.
"Ponyo," his mother started, tears in her eyes. "Take care of this vial. In it holds your life." She looped the necklace around Ponyo's neck- as long as he was near the small container of water, he would live. "We love you." The two Dragons then ushered their child outside, closing off the entrance to the Fountain, to pass away peacefully inside, once the water in it has fully dried up- which it wasn't far from doing.
The first thing Ponyo did was cry. He cried his little eyes out, cursing the stupid Fountain, wondering why his parents chose to protect it.. he cursed it all, now they were gone. The little Dragon was aware of the fact that he has to be careful of the small vial, as it is the one little thing that is keeping him alive. He stood up slowly, deciding immediately to give the clan elder a visit.

"Ah, Ponyo," the elderly Dragon arose from slumber as he sensed Ponyo's presence, he could tell straightaway that something was wrong with the younger Dragon. "Is something the matter?"
"Th-the fountain dried up," Ponyo sniffled. "They're d-dead, Haruto-sama." At this, the elder's eyes widened, and he immediately arose to comfort the child. "Oh, Ponyo... I'm so sorry," He whispered. "Just remember to be strong, young one. Things will get better soon."
The smaller Dragon wiped his eyes and tried to let out a smile. "Thank you," He murmured. Right then and there did Ponyo decided not to live in the past, but the present. He will stay strong, for the sake of his parents.

-Ponyo was a softhearted dragon, albeit a bit naive, he always sprung into action without thinking- which was a trait he needed to work on, as getting into trouble could damage his life source, the vial. The shark-like dragon was also working on becoming less clumsy, sometimes his tail could get in the way, knocking over objects and accidentally bumping it into others. It wasn't that much of a bad thing, he could literally swing it around as if it was a weapon.
He was also a bit childish, as expected since he was quite young. Ponyo is prone to temper tantrums, throwing tantrums at the littlest things, such as a fly that was bothering him, to a fish that bit him while he tried to catch it. Afterwards Ponyo would feel bad about starting the tantrum, and try his best to improve his mood.
The dragon was a troublemaker, plain and simple. Whenever he wasn't sleeping he would be up to mischief, plotting pranks on the entire clan. He would try to lie his way out of trouble too, but every clan member knew that he was the only dragon who would even try to pull a prank. Some of them won't lie, it kept them on their toes, and a little fun here and there is needed.
All-in-all Ponyo was a young little troublemaking dragon who still had much to learn through all of his adventures, and he is very determined to become the clan leader when he is older. The dragon knows he has to work hard to obtain that title, it was a title of honor and strength, but once Ponyo has his mind set on something, he won't back down.▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃in depth▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

-Ponyo didn't really have an occupation, but he liked to help out other animals that were in need. Whenever he wasn't asleep or plotting a prank, he would be walking through the forest, looking to see if any animal needed help. One of Ponyo's favorite jobs was to help them redecorate their dens, he had a bit of an artistic outlook on decoration, and they seemed happy with his decorating- and so was he. Ponyo's own little den was decorated to the brim with gifts from clan mates and random objects he found on his adventures.
One of the dragon's most memorable events happened very recently. There was a small fawn trapped on a little island in the middle of a small lake- and an adolescent leopard was swimming towards it at a quick pace. Without thinking, Ponyo swam his quickest towards the leopard, letting out what he thought were intimidating growls. It slowed the big cat down a bit, but it wasn't scared of him at all. Once they reached the island, Ponyo quickly slapped the cat with his oversized tail, to which the leopard let out a snort and swam off. The fawn was very happy- it's mother came right after the leopard left, and they both left together after giving Ponyo their gratitude. It was probably Ponyo's most dangerous adventure yet, but it was definitely a turning point in his life, making him a bit more stronger and braver than before.
