do you prefer simpler designs or more detailed/complex ones? :
Hmm, it really depends on the situation. With humans, I like to have more complex designs, while with some animal characters I prefer simpler ones. However, in general I'd have to say complex.
is there are reason as to why? (it's easier to draw/recognize, more original, etc):
Humans, well, besides body shape and color, tend to have the same 'layout' of things and sometimes it's hard to make them unique with simpler features. I need some basis to create personality and history and with a simpler human design that can be hard. With animal characters, things are a bit different. Animals come in far more shapes and sizes, so a simpler design can be balance out with the species, or a simpler design can inspire more from where the animal may be from. (I dunno if all that made sense >.<)
As for things besides that, I don't like to much of a complex character for drawing purposes, but if it is one then it provides a challenge to stretch my skills. I prefer a complex character for originality (let's face it, you can have a black cat with an amazing personality and back story, but in a sea of similar characters, it may not stick out.
would you consider this doll a simple or a complex design?:
I'd say in the middle. Its not a simple character and has a detailed design (clothing wise, hair wise, and little details that you point out) but it's also not overflowing with patterns and accessories. Personally, I think it has a perfect balance.
are you a fan of casual wear in designs? (what you'd find on the street/in school):
Totally! Having characters that have everyday clothing makes them easier to relate to and then build on.
what kind of designs do you like to see?:
Maybe some more naturey designs that have plants incorporated? And perhaps some inspired by different cultures around the world.
what kind of colors/palettes do you like to see used?: [optional]
I'm going to have to say my favorite palette, orange, blue and brown. I dunno why, i just love it.
anything specific you'd like to see?: [optional]
Deer people...
are these a lot of questions?:
Nah. As a person who likes to fill out questionares, I've had more owo
would you prefer more raffle adopts? first come first serve? any suggestions for contests?:
Yes, but maybe ones with extra points? Non-owners get an extra, things like that. I've also had the idea that one contest would be you have to write a letter as the character to their younger self. The contests would have to develop a personality and history, but show it, not tell?
