What are Sleepy Dragons?


Sleepy Dragons are a small species of dragon that prefer to find tiny, hidden locations to take naps in. Due to their elusive nature and constant pursue of the perfect sleep, it is often difficult to find them.

This Sleepy is as calm as a cool summer night.

Fun Facts!!

Juno LOVES to collect peacock feathers.

Her favorite place to sleep is beneath an old willow tree inside of an abandoned fox den that goes beneath the trees trunk. It is dark and peaceful there, and an easy place to hide away.

Juno isn't very social or active, and is quite clumsy. When she is out and about, it is not uncommon that she would trip and tumble over herself. When down, she simply just lays there for a while until she either feels motivated to stand, or just simply falls asleep.

When the bright summer stars come out to play,
I'll conceal you and hide you from harm's way.
Nestled in your bed of moss,
you won't remember a smidge of loss,
as I leave you tucked in your tree bed.

You'll grow and grow midst the steamy summer weather,
and my heart'll ache with the thought of us together,
because you and I were never meant to be,
but you'll always be my sun,
and I, your sea.

And when the cool night drips over the land,
I'll imagine when I first held your trembling hand,
and as the sky turns a shade of the deepest mulberry,
I'll weep for my lost child, snuggled among the rosemary.
And my heart will crumble during the cooling summer's eve,
And my shattered mind will never cease to grieve.

Amethyst never met her mother.
She was but a newborn, a small fragile thing, when she'd been left alone in the woods, tucked safely into the hollow of an ancient oak tree. She was carefully buried midst the dead wrinkled foliage and new bits of moss and feathers. So tediously was her new home prepared for her, so wrapped in the softest of forest materials was she, the wood animals knew that her mother was loathe to leave her behind. But after that faithful day, they never caught sight of her again, and never knew why the violet baby had been left an orphan.
So they sang Amethyst songs of her traveling mum and of the night she was left behind, mixing fact with fiction and spinning a wild tale of motherly love and adventure so as to soothe the little creature's aching heart.
Amethyst, raised on these ballads and songs, grew ever curious about her mummy and felt a fierce sadness in her soul that she couldn't dislodge.
Yet, she made the very best of her childhood, and went on many expeditions with the new friends she'd made in her home, the forest. She collected things, too, like the bleached skulls littering the forest floor. She kept feathers and turtle shells and learned how to store dried herbs for medicinal uses. The tree was her house, the forest her immense playground, but she still felt a strange something missing from it all.
