Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.

Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

INTRODUCTION POST

Name:
His name is "Grip". However, for whatever reason, though likely because he has and odd fondness for the bird, he has been nicknamed "Raven" or "The Raven". However, he likes to occasionally call himself by other names in different locations... thus, it is a bit iffy Grip is his actual name. Who knows? Though I suppose it probably is as he at least likes it best.

Gender:
Grip is a male.

Personality:
He is a small bundle of energy and wit. Everything about him is quick, and he tends to try his best to "keep his cool" throughout most situations. Due to the fact he's short, often others think he's easier to push around or younger than them. While he is not very old, he is NOT a pup either, and likes to be the one in charge and does not take being bosses around all too lightly.

Besides this occasional argumentative outburst he's agreeable and pretty relaxed and friendly, especially to those who treat him with respect.

Checkpoint 1 --

You waste no time in gathering up the supplies you've prepared and setting off down the worn trail found at the edge of camp. The sun hasn't even risen yet, light only beginning to touch the sky, but you've got a long journey ahead of you and no intention on wasting time. As the day wears on, you find it was a good thing you woke early - this road is much longer than you imagined! Finally, though, you notice something up ahead. The trail you're traveling on splits, heading left and right respectively. Peering down each pathway, you can see no significant difference between the two. Both of them creep into the mountains, eventually swallowed by heavy trees. The most obvious difference you can see is that the path to the right is somewhat lighter, mountains angled in such a way that allows more morning light into the space between them.

Grip, who had been running for sometime, slowed his pace down to a trot, and then to a stand still, upon the sight if the great divide in the road. With a quiet huh, muttered under his breath, he scanned the two paths momentarily. "Well... not to be superstitious, but right seems to be the right path..."

With that, and in his usual quick manner, he quickly headed down the right path, smiling brightly and humming to himself as he ran onward.

Checkpoint 2 --

The sun warms your pelt as you venture down the right path, but it doesn't last forever. You soon enter the shade of the thick trees. Maybe it's just you, but you're pretty sure the canopy isn't the only thing casting shadow. Glancing upwards, you see only green. Still going somewhat the right direction, but somewhat distracted, you wander around the wide trunks, searching for a gap in the leaves. Eventually, you find one and look up to see the sky has turned an angry gray. On cue, there's a crack of thunder and lightning flickers across the heavy clouds. Wind stirs the branches and large raindrops start to fall. Before you really have time to think about it, you find your pelt already soaked through! The trees, now swaying in the sudden storm, offer you no shelter. You have little choice other than to run along the path, paws skidding in the mud.

After a while of slipping and sliding, you find that you've left the cover of the trees. You almost continue to bolt down the main road, but something catches your eye. Through the sheets of rain, you can see a thin, scraggly path meandering off the main trail. Where could it lead, you wonder...?

Shivering in the freezing rain, Grip paused for a moment, tired from his mad dash to find shelter, but also intrigued by the sight of the small scraggly path. It did not look all too inviting, but...
"The way I'm going ain't doin' me no good..." He mumbled between his chattering teeth. "Might as well try that there path..."
With this decided, he slowly headed down the new path, curious to find where it led, and hoping he'd discover some shelter.

Alrighty, I had to go check with Snow. It apparently lasts through all checkpoints and maps until you get yourself a med kit

Side Trail --

The thin trail wound itself around many jutting rocks and twisted trees until you could no longer see back to where you came from. Tall cliffs rose up on either side of you, which blocked out the wind and some of the rain. After a while, the path began to show signs of age. Untamed blackberry bushes and thistles sprawled about, forcing you to tip-toe along to avoid getting pricked. You pace slowed to a crawl, but you soldiered on. In the end, though, it was all in vain. A giant piece of rock sat firmly in your way with no clear place to go around unless you suddenly grew wings.

"Ah darn it!" The shivering fox said, as he looked up at the looming boulder with a frown. "Well, that try was useless... time to go all the way back, it seems. More's the pity..."
But, he, as he walked back, smiled to himself. He'd only get through this journey if he kept positive, so, attempting to ignore his shivering bones and the useless path, he headed back to the last check point, and soon arrived there, eager to go onward.

Checkpoint 3 --

By the time you drag yourself back onto the main path, the gale has reduced itself to a drizzle. You paws sink a bit into the now soggy trail, mud getting caught in your fur, but at least you aren't being battered around anymore. A warm, humid breeze seems to push you on and, after a while, you can see what must be the next checkpoint up ahead. You elect to rest a bit at the marked spot. Looking over your shoulder, you can see the tiny figures of foxes in the distance. Looks like you lost more time than you thought!

Focusing back in, you survey your new choices. The main path continues up ahead, meandering along a river and out of sight. To your right, there's what appears to be a game trail, twisting and turning all over as if the creator couldn't quite make up their mind. It and the other end of the river fade into a particularly lush looking bunch of trees after stretching on for quite a while.

With a small sigh, and a tiny smile accompanying it, Grip shakes his head to himself. "I... probably shouldn't. But just watch me as I will." And with a small laugh, the small fox again veers towards this new side path, too curious to not venture on toward it.
