His reaction to being separated from his sister:
Twiggy stood grooming his sister in the meadow. It was dusk and the cool frost of a winter's night loomed upon them. Their foster mother was standing nearby, the look of grief still painted on her face as the two foals constantly reminded her about her own foal. Twiggy finished grooming his sister's palomino coat and started to walk over to their foster mother. They called her June when her real name was JuneBug. He never liked the full name. His sister walked with him and they both quietly slipped closer to the mare. Twiggy clumsily stepped on a twig which awoke Junebug. He earned a quick glare from his sister before a heated lecture from Junebug. He sulkily slunk away towards the fence posts where he lay down and went to sleep.
Twiggy groggily woke up to the hostile growl of a truck. He stood up, shaking the ice crystals that stuck on his cover. His sister cantered over, whinnying worriedly. "Where were you? I couldn't find you all night! I was worried," She said frowning when she saw the quivering legs of her brother's. "Are you... cold?" She asked slowly. "Um, yeah, i didn't sleep in the shelter." The shock on his sister's face sent his heart lurching. "You know that can-" she glanced back at the dozing Junebug before continuing, "You know that can kill you! You could have froze." Twiggy rolled his eyes, forgetting about the truck. "Hah, i'm stronger than i seem," He reassured his sister. She gave him a dirty look, "don't that again, we need to spend more time together" she mothered her little brother, licking his fetlock. Twiggy recoiled, his ears pinned back and expression confused. "wha-what are you talking about??" He stammered, stumbling back. "No! That's not what i...um..i'm sorry." She replies, stepping forward with her ears pricked, trying to look innocent. Twiggy scowled at his sister's failed attempt, "either you spill the beans or i will run away!" he threatened, knowing he probably wouldn't. His sister called his bluff and her face said her mind. "Fine then, the choice is yours." Twiggy shouted spinning around, showering the filly with water from the grass. She squealed and reared while Twiggy galloped off.

The two men named Jase and Ben, hooked the trailer up to their truck. Ben is tall with a strong build to him. He is also the current owner of the two orphan foals. Jase was also tall but skinnier than Ben. He was here to pick up the colt that was recently sold to him. Ben secured the last chain on the trailer connecting to the tuck. "All done," he called to Jase who was choosing which halter to use. "alright, shall we get on with it?" his voice rang out. "Yea, i will drive." Ben replied walking to the drivers side, hopping in and starting the engine. "you know this will be harder than you think so i will halter JuneBug and i'm guessing the palomino filly will follow with your colt trailing behind. It's the simple pecking order." he said, driving down the road to his meadow. "okay, cool. But which halter is Junebugs?" Jase replied ignorantly.

The night rolled upon the ranch like the blink of an eye. Twiggy stood under a growing tree. Its bare branches gave the colt no protection from the snow that was now lightly falling. He shivered and pulled his eyes from the ground up to where his sister and June huddled. He snorted and shook his little mane. "I don't need my sister cooing over me! After all, i am only a few minutes younger." he talked to himself. Twiggy was about to fall asleep when he heard the hostile growl again. He watched the road for a few seconds and almost fell asleep when the truck's headlights appeared like a beacon in the night. It cut through the snowy fog and found it's way to Twiggy's eyes. He groaned and looked away for a moment. The car came closer until it stopped outside the gate to enter the meadow. A man opened the gate and the car drove in. The gate closed abruptly behind the truck and trailer with a clang. Twiggy stepped backwards unsure of what was going to happen next. Ben whistled sharply for his mare, "JUNEBUG!!! COME HERE HONEYYYYYY" he called. Junebug responded instantly and forgot about the little filly that was next to her. She cantered away to the sound of her owner's voice. She was haltered and was lead away to be put on the trailer. Twiggy's sister galloped frantically after her caretaker and followed her foolishly into the trailer. "Hah! Got them Jase. Let's turn around the truck and head home eh?" They had celebrated too soon. As they left the meadow Twiggy finally realised what was happening and frantically galloped after the trailer. "WAIT! YOU LEFT ME!" He cried out, tears streaming from his eyes. The colt stared after the trailer and collapsed in a heap, exhausted and depressed.

Twiggy awoke with his body shaking and covered in snow. If he didn't wake up then, he wouldn't have woken up at all. Twiggy got up but then fell back into the fresh snow. He was hungry, dehydrated and was catching a cold. The familiar growl rose from over the hill but barely reached the colt's ears. He opened his eyes but closed them again. The cold was getting the best of him. As soon as the truck appeared, Jase leapt out of the passenger seat. He raced towards Twiggy, leaping over the gate to reach him. As soon as Jase did, he pulled his jacket off of him and wrapped it around the colt. Ben had finally caught up in the truck and was now rushing over. "We need to get him in the truck, NOW!" he barked, grabbing Twiggy's rump, lifting it up. Jase caught onto what Ben was doing and copied except with the colt's chest. Now they were both carrying the limp foal across the meadow to the truck. They placed him gently in the backseat and raced off in the truck back to the house. He must be warmed up immediately.

Twiggy started to stir from one of his power naps and glanced around at his surroundings. He saw ben with a bottle of beer to his lips and Jase was reading. The foal sneezed, causing both men to jump. "B'limen hell, that foal knows how to scare my socks off Jase," Ben says, coughing after swallowing his drink too quickly. Jase gives him a shrug before kneeling down next to his colt. "How are you buddy? You good?" But infact, Twiggy was petrified. His eyes darted around as he grew stronger. The vet must have visited while he was passed out. The colt looked around for his sister but she was nowhere to be. In agony, Twiggy threw up his head and whinnied for his sister. He knows what she would have said to him if she was here. 'Get a hold of yourself, calm down and know you can do it'. Twiggy whimpered and huddled into a ball. "The last thing we did was fight, it's all my fault," he sobbed. Jase sighed and patted the colt before leaving him to his on business. "He needs an hour before i transport him again," he explained to Ben he sat there watching in awe. "Sure" he casually replied.
