What is a 'Carnival Feathox'?
Carnival Feathoxes (CFXs) are a species of omnivorous bird/fox-like creatures native to the Amazon. Instead of fur their bodies are covered in a plumage of thick, soft feathers as opposed to fur, and have long ears that resemble the wings of a bird. Perhaps their most striking feature is the large crown of bright feathers that the adults possess which are used to help attract potential mates and intimidate rivals and predators. Along with having enlarged canines and being bigger in size, males also generally have much fuller, brighter crowns.
Carnival Feathoxes are relatively small creatures, being roughly the size of a Parsons Russell Terrier though size often varies greatly depending on the sex. Females usually weigh 9 - 14lbs whilst males are bigger at 10 - 18lbs. Both sexes live together in large open flocks where the species spends most of its time busily socialising, eating, grooming and sleeping with each other.
Carnival Feathoxes are said to rival most parrots and corvids in terms of intelligence, with the species excelling in problem-solving activites. If one comes across a particularly difficult puzzle that it cannot solve then it isn't uncommon for more to gather as they attempt to work it out together.
A nice female and the first of the species to be available for adoption. I love how her hazel eyes turned out <3
This one is a simple naming contest. Ends March 25th at 9pm GMT.
