Ohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodness Joy!!! I am sooo excited right now!!!!!! I went out dragon looking again and you will never guess what happened!!!

So, I decided to go to the coast this time, instead of the forest. I figured I might have better luck there. I had brought some mutton and haddock, which seemed to be the best for catching dragons in my experience. So there I was, meandering along the beach when suddenly, I hear wings flapping and a clattering behind me. I turned slowly, not wanting to frighten off whatever it was. I gasped when I caught a glimpse of it.

What I saw was the most beautiful dragon in existence. It was a Deadly Nadder, its head cocked to one side to see me. It's scales here absolutely beautiful, shimmering in every color of the rainbow, starting with dark grey on it's head then fading from grey to green, to teal, to blue, to purple, shimmering in the evening light with the sea spray sparkling along her spines and scales, her deep violet eyes scanning me intelligently..

"Hello beautiful." I said softly, reaching for my bag. Her spines immediately sprang out and I froze. She eyed me, then eyed..not the bag, something under it. That, Joy, is when I discovered i am an idiot. I had left a dagger strapped to my belt, not tucked in my boot like I normally did when I went dragon looking. That almost cost me my chance. I moved my hand to my shoulder, unslinging my bag and setting it on the sand.

She was still staring at my dagger. I knew that I couldn't reach toward it, or I'd get impaled. But I had to get it off if I wanted any chance at taming this beautiful creature. I reached carefully to my belt buckle. I was glad that I just used my belt to hold my dagger. I un buckled it and tossed it, and the dagger, as far away as I could. The nadder's eyes tracked the blade until it landed, then they snapped back to me.

I gently reached for my bag, afraid she would throw a spike at me. She just cocked her head, as if not understanding what I was doing. I pulled out a haddock and tossed it her direction. She examined it a moment before picking it up. But, instead of eating it she did something strange. She lied down and began to scrape the fish against her tail spines. I watched, unsure what she was doing until she shifted her grip on the fish, exposing the side she had been scraping. I laughed as the realization dawned on me. She was taking the scales off!!

She stopped and looked at me when I laughed, but I kept smiling. "Why, " I said, "You are a regular little diva!! Do you not like scales on your fish??" She cocked her head, then returned to scraping. I pulled out a second fish and sat down, picking up a nearby rock and began scraping the scales off for her. "That is what I'll call you." I informed her. "You'll be Diva. How does that sound?" She gulped down the fish and made a happy purring sort of noise. "You like that?" I asked, tossing her my partially scaled fish. "I'm glad, 'cause I do too." I spent hours sitting there on that beach, because whenever I ran out of fish, Diva flew off and brought some more. Finally, the sun began to sink behind the sea and I stood." Come on Diva." I said, "Lets go home." I mounted up and we flew off away from the sunset and towards home.

Today, today was really really awesome day! I was minding my own business, letting Rose and Aurora stretch when something really scared me. Rose perked her head up, very violently and turned to the forest. Then She just took off! I jumped on Aurora and raced after her. She flew all around until she stopped at something. I heard a bunch of roars and dragon cries. I jumped off Aurora and tried to calm Rose, but it was no use. She screamed and roared and flew off again. This time when i reached her she was standing in front of a dragon battle! It was a monstrous nightmare and a deadly nadder! They where at it good, but i was just staring at the nadder. He had nice black scales that faded into all different colors. Rose roared and the two dragons stop. They both sit up, like she was their master. Maybe they where fighting over Rose. But she walked over to the nadder and rubs her face with his. The nightmare went right after Rose and jumped and attacked her. She screeched and feel to the ground. "No!" I yelled. I didn't want to do this, i took out my dagger and pointed it at the dragon. I started walking fourth toward him. The nightmare yelped and ran away. I looked at Rose's still body. I could see the claw marks on her throat and bites on her legs. I leaned over her softly crying. When i felt it. A heartbeat! Rose slowly opened her eyes and squawked softly. The other nadder came up and shoved me out of the way. I chuckled, and watched. He just sat there. I got out bandages from my bag and wrapped them around all the claw marks and bites on Rose. The. I laid a fish on her face when she jolted up and ate it. I laughed, then looked at the dragon. He stared at me, and i stared at him. Then he got up and walked away. Great, no super nadder for me! Then i heard splashing, then i felt drops of water. Then splash! I was soaked by the nadder. I was cold, because of it being sundown, i was wet, and hungry. Aurora was sleeping and so was Rose, but me and the nadder just sat. He was a night dragon. I got up and grabbed some near by sticks and leaves then walked back. To see a fire already made! Ugh thus dragon was killing me. He was a trickster! I threw the leaves and sticks onto the fire when i heard crackling. The dragon was holding a stick in his mouth with a fish on it. I laughed, then i was hit with a fish right in the face. The nadder grunted. I took the fish off the stick and ate. The nadder hadn't eaten yet and he was covered with blood and scratches. I tried to help but he always turned away. I took out my blanket and laid on a log, then dozed off. The next morning the nadder was gone! I panicked then turned to see a faded color tail in the bushes. I walked over and was jumps scared by a nadder! I sighed and walked away to find food. I got some fish for the dragons and some chicken for me. I roasted it over the fire and ate. I heard a lot of crunching over my shoulder as the dragons ate. Rose was feeling better, but couldn't fly. When i walked over to the nadder, i reached out to put a bandage on his back and he let me! So i put the rest on. I reached my hand and felt his rough scales on my hand. I looked over and saw his face. "Nightcore" i whispered under my breath. I was going to hop on Aurora, but Nightcore picked my up and threw me on his back. I told him up, he flew up. I said Berk, he flew right to Berk. Then i realize i forgot Rose! But i found her a Aurora walking back. I gave them all there lunch and watched them peacefully eat. I picked up a book on dragons and began to read when it was smacked down by a tail. I looked over a was covered with kisses by Nightcore! I knew he was a loving dragon, he just needed time to be trained. I petted him softly and hugged him tight. He was mine. Then he squawked and began to lick me again! I laughed and kissed him too.

Evidently letting Ink out of the barn before checking for dragons and then taking a midday nap while he was out was not a great idea. They got into some sort of skirmish over food, I assume. Now that I've left out a bucket for her, though, I guess she's staying, pretty girl. She and Ink are getting along well now that she's being fed, despite the occasional argument. Love-hate relationship, perhaps?
