So next time, I was ready for the rush,
I was ready for the thrill, now hush.
The thrill was there, a shiver up my spine,
that was when I realized, you were mine.
Now, all those ties are gone

It was never me, never really me.
How was I so blind that I couldn't see?

it was a dreary night
i was weary from work
your eyes were bright
you had quite a smirk

i had never seen someone
who made my heart sing so
you were warm like the sun
your coat all aglow

you were stalled next to me
the wall felt ten times thicker
i thought for sure you'd agree
until i learned you were a kicker

i didn't take it personally at first
but you got persistent
i have never felt worse
you seemed so distanced

they moved you away today
said we just didn't fit
i'll never forget the beautiful bay
although to this i'd never admit
