PTP Name: Sirius
PTP Gender: Male
PTP Rarity: Very Rare
Tell me a story about this PTP(min. 500 words): Sirius; the star, the dog star, that was what that snake had known, been known for, all his life. But Sirius was no dog star, he was just a snake. A paint snake. Not a giant nuclear ball of hydrogen and light - why did everyone get the two of them confused?
But Sirius (the snake) had his own things to worry about; such as why was everything grey this side of the mountain? The other side, he’d heard, was colorful, but this side? The dirt was grey, the sky was grey, heck even the plants were grey. What gives? Sirius and his painty friends had always been the only colorful bunch of the group, except in cicada season when the cicadas were colorful too (Seventeen years in colorless land has to do something to you). The only time anything else had any kind of color were at dusk and dawn, when the sun lit the atmosphere on red fire, but it was kind of a grey red. Still, sunset was Sirius’ favorite time of day, and everyone else’s, too.
All his life he had heard of great gods that had come and painted the land with color, the same gods that ignored this corner of the world. He had heard of a rain shadow, but a color shadow? Sirius couldn’t believe the illogicality. Besides, he’d tried painting the dirt once; all that happened was a lot of dull dirt mixing with his beautiful sky-blue paint, not that he’d ever seen a blue sky.
So, Sirius went on with his life, and his colored comrades with theirs, and they all wished that they could actually see green grass and purple flowers and yellow dandelions until one day when a traveler stopped by the snakes’ little town.
“Isn’t it horrible?” the snakes of the town cried. “Why, this land, it is so very colorless, you’ve seen other lands, they can’t all be like this!” And, well, everyone freaked out and thought the traveler could help them or tell them that they’re all colorblind or something. But slowly they grew silent as the traveler smirked.
“I think I know your problem,” he said, and the pythons of the town listened closely to his cure for the problem: “Sprinkle a glass of this elixir over the grass, the river, the sky if you can reach it, each day for a month, and the color will return.”
But of course the traveler was the only one in the town with the elixir, and he wouldn’t tell the recipe, so he charged the snakes dearly for each bottle of elixir they bought. And they followed his directions every day for a month, hoping that the color would return each day.
“It’s working!” each would cry, and Sirius too. Is that a hint of blue he saw in the sky? I flash of golden stone in the brook?
But the traveler (and his marvelous tales of adventure, and grandeur) left four days early, even though the snakes promised a party, a massive whole-town celebration when the cure is complete.
And did the cure work? That’s for you to decide.
