Relationship with parents;
Relationship with Nova
Quartz is a little bit of a mama’s boy. He would follow her around everywhere she went. Quartz would always sleep with his mom at night for her warmth and softness. Nova thought it was the cutest thing and could never say no to her little man.

Relationship with Syther
Syther was the one who taught Quartz how to hunt. He would show him everything he knew. He taught him how to smell for the fresh tracks and how to stalk his pray. Quartz was a quick study and listened to whatever his father had to say to him.

It all started when Nova and Syther fell in love. They later decided to have a little viscet together. But before Nova could lay her egg, she and Syther got lost because of the big, heavy storm. Syther found a place for the night so they could relax. It wasn’t a den but a cave that he found. And in the middle of the night Nova laid her egg. It was the happiest day for the both of them. The storm lasted all night, but after, Syther went on to find their den so they could bring their viscling home. But because Nova didn’t want to take a chance and move the egg back home she wanted to wait until the little viscling was born. It was such a beautiful cave anyway, why leave in a hurry.
Finally the day came when the egg hatched. It was a beautiful sight for the two brand new parents. It was a boy and they needed to come up with a new name for him. Syther came up with a lot of odd names that made no sense. Then Nova came up with the perfect name for her little boy, Quartz. Syther looked in at her in curiosity. She explained that it would be a perfect name for him since he was born in a cavern filled with quartz everywhere.

Quartz grew up a happy viscet with a lot of other friends. Except he loved to follow his mother around all the time. He loved cuddling up with her soft fur at night. He was certainly a mama’s boy. His dad did teach him how to hunt. Quartz loved every minute of it. He loved smelling for the tracks. He loved to see how close he could get to his pray without using his eyes. His father always said not to use one or two senses but to use all five of them. He had to smell for the pray and listen to see how fast it moved. He also had to look for the pray and feel where it was going to move to. And at the very end taste it and make sure it was a nice, fresh kill. Quartz loved learning from his dad because everyone said he was the best tracker and hunter of the pack.
Quartz remembers the very first time his dad took him out to go hunting. Syther showed him how to look for the tracks. So Quartz followed the tracks until he found the source of the animal. He was about to jump on top of it but got distracted by the sound of the river that was nearby. His father asked him where he was going and Quartz responded that he was going to follow the strange sound that he could hear. He got closer to the river, he knew that is where they drank but it was fast, moving water. All the other viscets drank from the slow part of the river or near the end of the pond. Quartz wanted to see how fast it was so he was going to put his paws into the river. His father pushed him back and told him not to get near the fast water because it could sweep him up and no one would ever see him again. So he promised his dad that he would never go by that part of the river.
As years past Quartz knew how to hunt all by himself. Of course it was easier with other viscets to help him out but he could do hunt himself if he needed to. He was just as good as his father, but his father had more experience then Quartz, he was still learning from him though. He was out hunting alone trying to see if he could impress his father by bringing home a big meal for the pack. And maybe he could impress a few girls as well. Quartz was sitting in the tall grass watching some deer eating and scanning to make sure that there were no enemies around in the area. He watched them for a while looking for the right deer to take down. He found the perfect deer. It was strong looking but not too strong to wear he couldn’t take down by himself. He was waiting for a long time to wait until the deer got closer and to make sure everything was clear. He bolted out of the tall grass and the chase was on. He followed them until he could almost taste the deer in his mouth. He was about to jump onto it and take it down when suddenly something spooked him. He quickly turned to see what it was but he slipped on the wet rocks down by the fast moving water of the river. He fell in the icy, cold water where he was tossed around and all about. He hit his head a few times on different rocks and slowly began to close his eyes. Then he hit his head really hard on a rock as he was flowing down the river and blacked out.
Quartz slowly woke up in a strange place. He was at the end of the pound or something with shallow water. There was a tall waterfall far away from where he was. Quartz knew he had to get back home somehow, but he didn’t know how he could get back up the waterfall. He was already hurt and scratched up and his head was throbbing. He knew he had to find shelter and rest somewhere before he could find a way home. He got away from the water and started looking for a place to sleep for the night. He found a small little den for the night, but as he was trying to rest his stomach started growling because he hadn’t eaten since who knows when. He found some berries by the water to eat and he thought to himself how he could get so lost. He just wanted to get back home and be with his family. So he went back to the den he found and fell asleep for the night.
He woke up the next morning and looked up at the high waterfall and thought of a way to climb up and get home. He started at the bottom and tried climbing up the steep rocks. The rocks were so wet and so his balance. He knew he would have to go the long way around. So he started walking and tried to find a way up the hill without getting hurt again. He walked around the hill for a few days until he got to the top. He looked down and smiled because he was almost home, he just needed to walk up the river until he found something familiar. It felt like he walked for a few days but was actually for a few hours. He ran up the river and fell in tears. The river split of into three different paths. He didn’t know where to go so he stood there thinking about his old life and how he will do what it takes to get back home.
He took one path, a random path because he needed to start somewhere. Quartz walked for a little bit, but he didn’t know how far he should go because he didn’t know how long he was knocked out for. He decided to walk for a few days down the path and if he didn’t recognize anything he would turn back and try another path. There was a slight breeze and Quartz could smell the scent of other viscets, but he had never smelled these viscets before. He wanted to go investigate but he wanted to find his family. As he kept walking he realized that he could ask the other viscets and see if they know where his home is. As he was running towards the sent to find the other viscets he realized that he smelled them for the breeze and that they weren’t exactly where he thought he was. He was looking for something a footprint, a scent, or even a sound or sight of another viscet. There was nothing, it was pointless. He walked back to follow the river again but he wondered too far and lost the sound, smell, and sight of the river. He was to excited to find other viscets to help him that he forgot the he was following the river. So he would backtrack until he found something. He heard something behind him as he was walking and turned around but didn’t see anything. It was getting dark and he needed to find shelter anyway to rest and think about what he was going to do because he had never been so lost before.
He slowly began to wake up from voices giggling and squealing. He began to open his eyes and saw four female viscets around him. They all scattered because they got frightened. Quartz quickly got up and tried talking to one. He chased the blue, green, and black viscet because she was the smallest one and the easiest to catch. Quartz pinned her to the ground and ask where they were and how to find the river. She didn’t know what to say and because she was so young she started crying. Then the other three bigger viscets came over and started yelling at Quartz for making the little one cry. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make her cry I just want to find my pack and go home” replied Quartz.
Then the brown viscet sighed “I get it, you just want to find your family but how long have you been out here.”
Quartz stuttered “I’m… I’m not exactly sure, but it’s been a few days.”
The blue viscet turned to Quartz and asked “what’s your name anyway.”
The brown viscet turned to the blue viscet and snapped “Space, that’s rude to ask if you didn’t introduce yourself first.”
Space looked at her and replied “You’re right that was a little rude.” She turned to Quartz “I’m sorry, I’m Space what’s your name.”
He replied “Nice to meet you Space, I’m Quartz.”
The brown viscet interrupted him “Well I’m Reyes, the periwinkle viscet over there is Paw, and the little viscet you made cry earlier is Nabi.”
Quartz bent down to Nabi and apologize “I’m sorry Nabi, I didn’t mean to make you cry earlier I was just looking for my family and I got a little lost, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Nabi looked up at Quartz “it’s ok I get it, I lost my family too when I was younger. Maybe you can join our pack just like I did.”
Reyes snapped at Nabi “Quartz is looking for his family Nabi he doesn’t need a new pack.”
Space turned to Paw and whispered “but it would be nice to have a male viscet in the pack.” Reyes quickly glared at Space and shook her head. Space turned away like she didn’t say anything.
“Well Quartz” replied Reyes “I know my way around this area but I don’t know any other viscets that live around here.”
Quartz looked down “well can you at least tell me where the river is.”
Paw interrupted Reyes “just right over there, just go over those hills over there.”
Quartz smiled “thank you for helping me. I should go look for my family now.” Quartz quickly took off and raced for the hills. He raced to the river going to look for his pack again. But he then realized something. How can a viscet pack survive without at least one male viscet. He thought about it real hard. He has already been missing from his pack for a few days now and viscets do leave their packs to start new ones. Plus what are the odds of a female pack surviving out there on their own without a male in the group. Quartz loves his family and would like to see them again but right now the female pack needs a male right now. So Quartz raced back to where he found the four females. When he got back they were all gone. He looked all around for them. He just couldn’t seem to find them. Then all of a sudden he picked up there sent. He followed his nose until he could hear their sweet voices again.
“He was kind of cute.”
“Yes he was and we could use a male in the pack.”
“But he was looking for his family. So why would he stay and live with our pack.”
“Because you can’t run a pack without a male” interrupted Quartz.
They all turned and looked in surprise. “But I thought you were looking for your family” mentioned Reyes.
“I was” Quartz replied “but you need a male in the pack and who else is going to do that.”
They all kind of blushed. “Well I guess welcome to the pack, Quartz” Space welcomed him first.
Nabi yelled in excitement “yes, there is a new daddy in the pack.” They all smiled and laughed. They all became a big happy family.
A few years later Quartz was hunting for some food for his pack because he was alpha now. He chanced a deer a little too far. He remembered where he went though so he went to turn back to go home. Then something tackled him to the ground. He didn’t know what hit him but it had a familiar sent. He tried wresting with whatever was on top of him. Then out of nowhere he heard his name. It was the sweet voice of his mother. He turned to the side and saw his mother standing there with a big, wide smile and tears running down her face. Then the viscet that was on top of him got off and looked at him with a big smile. “You’re finally home” Syther explained. Both of Quartz parents gave him a big hug. His mother asked where he has been in the few years that he has been gone. He told the whole story of what happened that day and the days following that day. He told them that he made his own pack and that he was alpha. He told them that he needed to be there for his pack but he knows his way home and would come visit them all the time.
