personality ;; Yumei is a rather unique individual-- she's neither social nor antisocial. It's not that she's social, as she prefers to not talk, but she doesn't like being away from crowds, either. She prefers to watch and listen in, or just watch as people move around in their lives, as that's really all she can see. She doesn't mind it, of course, at least not now. At first she thought it was a curse, but then she realized that it made her who she is, and is quite alright with it now. If anything, she has grown attached to the beautiful array she sees when she notices movement. In addition to this, she has the tendency to be quite sarcastic and seemingly cold when spoken to, as even though she can usually predict responses and how others react in conversations, she herself doesn't know how to respond. Sometimes, Yumei will actually stutter or stumble upon words, as speaking isn't her forte-- it's listening she's good at. From this, she's actually a great friend once you realize just how to communicate with her. She's great at listening, as well as understanding. It's quite often that others will go to her for advice or just someone to speak to, although she's not the best at comforting them.
unique extra ;; Yumei, or Mei, actually has blindsight. She was born with a birth defect, where her striate cortex (a cortex that carries the visual cues that show the image itself) was damaged. However, that doesn't make her fully blind, even though she cannot see images in itself. While she can't see images, she can see movement. Whenever something is moving, she can tell where it is and that it's there, but not what it is. While this has led her to be more detached from the world around her, this has led her to have a unique perspective on life. She feels a stronger connection to animals that hunt and live like this, such as frogs.
