Mary's companion is a ferret who rides on her back and wears a bowtie. He was once a pet, belonging to someone, somewhere, but no owner has ever been found and Mary prefers it that way. This ferret, affectionately named Louis (Lu-ee), has been her friend for almost three years since the day she woke up to find him in her stable and nearly crushed him in a panic. Nowadays he is no fear of being stepped on, as he grips her mane and hisses and squeaks in turns at others. Louis and Mary will sometimes 'dance' at night, a strange slow and careful ritual where she leans down so he can hug her face, and they sort of sway. This doesn't last long, and perhaps after five minutes it will change into a game that would give anyone a heart attack watching the little ferret narrowly avoiding a painful demise.

companion; Holly's companion is a blue merle australian Shepherd named Ryker. When brought to Tipping Ranch, the owner was surprised to find that Holly had a dog in the trailer with her. When they called to see if the previous owner had lost one of their dogs they claimed that they didn't have any australian shepherds at the ranch. It is assumed that Ryker found his own way into to the trailer during one of the stops during Holly's hundred mile roadtrip. Holly and Ryker seemed pretty happy and comfortable being around each other, Ryker will follow the mare out into the fields or snuggle close to her in the barn. If Ryker isn't around, Holly will actively search for him and whinny until he comes back to her. There are times when the mare follows him instead and has even jumped a fence to stay with him. Recently it's been found that Ryker is deaf but can find his way to Holly by the sound of her hooves hitting the ground when she's out running around.

The sweet little birds made a nest in the rafters above her stall, and when the young began to fly, she provided a safe place to crash land for them, much to the gratitude of the mother bird. The birds have stuck around ever since, and many more nests have shown up all around the ranch. The birds also love to eat the flies, mosquitoes, and other bothersome bugs that surround the gentle mare, and sing to her in the mornings.
