What does this mako like to hunt for on the beach?: Fiji wakes up early every morning to hunt for sea glass. To some, hunting for glass might seem pointless, or useless even. However, sea glass is very hard to find, and you have to have patience and a keen eye to find even one small three inch piece. Genuine sea glass can take twenty to fifty years to acquire it's shape, texture, and frosted look. His favorite color of sea glass is amberina, which is two toned. Once Fiji finds a piece, he either does one of two things. If the glass is a common color, he will put it in a mason jar and display it for others to see. However, if the glass is uncommon or rare, he'll make jewelry. Getting up early and hunting for hours is worth the thrill of finding one piece of glass for Fiji.

Occupation: Fiji is a glassblower, or glassmith. Glassblowing is a technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble, using a blowpipe. The transformation of glass takes about 2,400° F. It took Fiji years to learn this skill, and being a perfectionist, it can take weeks for him to make something that he likes. Glassblowing would be his second favorite hobby, after hunting for sea glass.

Julius likes to hunt little tiny crabs along the sea shore, mostly because they are her favourite animal! Crabs are usually fun to chase, catch, hold, and release! Julius has always admired little crabs, but she doesn't know why.
