Merbats are a cross between your typical bat and a mermaid, turning out to have the head of a bat with the tail of the beautiful legends. They still have sharp eyesight and hearing, but now also have the ability to swim under the water for long periods of time. However, as small as they are, they are an easy meal for many big fish and other underwater creatures, so they tend only to be under for a few minuets at a time.
