Adventure he has had:
A dull silence had descended upon the clearing. The dull grey stallion raised his head, chocolate eyes catching and reflecting the light of the full moon. They glinted mischievously as he looked about. This was perfect. They'd never know.
Hopefully.
With utmost care the beast trotted towards the muted red of the fence. He seemed to grow wings as he sailed over the obstacle, powerful legs aiding him in doing so. He landed the jump with ease, taking a moment to get his bearings. Then he made his move, a rather bold if not rash one.
He ventured off in the direction of the mountains, excitement and adrenaline hastening his already rapid canter. Very quickly after he had raced away, Max came upon a densely-wooded thicket of trees. They were made mostly of pine trees, but there were several cottonwoods mixed in. He admired the way moonlight poured through the gaps between the branches and illuminated the earth with a silver dappled pattern, mottling his pelt and reminding him of a stained glass window.
The stallion cantered through the forest, weaving between trees and flinging up his heels like a colt might.
After around an hour of just frolicking among the trees, Max decided he'd better move on. At the edge of the forest lay a vast, open plain, only broken up by occasional trees and small pools of water. Stars gleamed above him like a silver beacon, seeming to whisper Come along Max, make your way to the mountains.
He continued on, admiring the stars above him and imagining what might occur when it was discovered he was missing. Most likely panic would ensue.
Max lowered his head to the ground, slowly walking forward. Something seemed... off. A shadow flitted in the corner of the stallion's eye, vanishing within seconds. His head snapped up, eyes widening as terror slowly consumed him. Then it emerged.
A field mouse exploded from the darkness and scampered in front of the stallion, fixing tiny beady eyes upon him. The enormous creature let out a frightened squeal and reared back, staggering from the suddenness of the entire ordeal.
Then it him.
This awful monster was actually a mouse. A mere mouse, one of the most harmless things he could've encountered out here. If a mouse was to scare him as bad as this, Max disliked to think if it were a wolf or even a bear. Slowly, his ears swiveled. Max was quickly lost to his thoughts.
The stallion wheeled and set off back for his home at a slow canter.
The wild life was most certainly not for him.
