the bashkir curly horse- quite possibly the most unique breed I've ever come across. Every inch of their coats are curled, from mane and tail to even inside the ears.

Personality: Powerful and brave, this horse is descended from a very noble line of war horses. He is very well respected and is seen as quite a sensational sight. All the horses descended from this line have been mulberry greys with beautiful crimson manes and snowy coats and Venti is very proud of his linage. He works in close quarters with Raven as the secondary herd protector. He enjoy talking tactics and protecting the herd. His only problem is that he doesn't know how to switch off and have fun. He is always on the ball with his eyes peeled open.

The Konik
The Konik is a small primitive and semi feral breed originating from Poland. They stand from 12.3hh to 13.3hh and are very small and stocky and very tough. They sport a blue dun coat with dorsal stripe and leg barring much like a fjord horse's. They have a powerful and deep chest.

Marwari horse, indigenous to India and now rather rare; they all have naturally curled ears that point inward like in the picture above, even as young foals. I think it's really cute and sometimes it makes them look like they have wee little horns c:

The horses were introduced to the island in the 1800s and by the 1950s were being rounded up and sold off to slaughter houses. So much of their population had been depleted that they nearly became extinct. Which is why by the 80s they were protected by the government of Canada and were not to have interference from humans. Research groups then started studying them from afar and that's when it was understood that their genetics were different enough for them to matter. After that they became conservation animals and Sable Island became a national park to offer them the most protection.

The Abaco Spanish Colonial Horse was a free-roaming wild horse population. They were renowned for often been homozygous for the splashed white gene and often displayed bald faces, blue eyes and white-dipped bodies. However due to a tornado that savaged their habitat, most of the herds perished. Today, they are the most endangered horse breed in the world with only one remaining. Nunki, featured in the picture, is the last of her kind.

Caspians are a rare breed of genetically distinct miniature horses from Iran. There are currently less than 500 worldwide. These guys are very short, no higher than 12.2hh and they've been around since 3000 B.C. For more than a thousand years, they were actually believed to be extinct, until a couple went on an expedition to find their children horses. They had heard of these small horses along the Caspian Sea and found that the breed still existed. Caspians have the temperament and hardiness of Arabians. They are closely related to Arabians and are possibly the ancestors of all modern, hot blooded horse breeds.

The yakut pony
The horse breed is believed to have come from ancient origins. It is possible that it may be related to old Asian breeds particularly of Mongolian descent. There are some theorists who maintain that the Yakut is not a natural native of Siberia. Its introduction to Siberia is in fact credited to the Yakut people who chose to settle in the region. Hence, the horse breed carries the name of the people that has bred it through the years.

The Kladruber is the oldest Czech horse breed and one of the world's oldest horse breeds. It is considered very rare. Modern Kladrubers are usually gray. Many stand between 16.2 and 17 hands high 66 to 68 inches (170 to 170 cm) and primarily used in harness. They are suitable for light draft and agriculture, and can be seen at the international levels in the sport of combined driving. This FEI sport makes good use of the Kladruber's calm nature, endurance, and relative speed. The Kladruber is also occasionally crossbred with lighter breeds to produce a more suitable riding horse, usually for dressage.
