Shark Fact:
Sharks are incredibly hardy animals with the ability to adapt to and thrive in almost any environment.
Recently, 2 species of sharks were found living inside the crater of an active underwater volcano in the Solomon Islands! This might not seem like such a big deal, but the fact is that no animal could possibly survive in these waters: The volcano is almost constantly spewing ash and acids into the water, causing water temperatures to soar into the 300's (Celcius that is, or about 570 degrees Fahrenheit) and acidity levels to be on par with vinegar on some occasions. Not to mention that fact that the sharks must some how know when the volcano will erupt as to know to leave the area. I guess there's a reason they've been around for millions of years!
