#3107 Smoky Black Irregular Minimal Overo Irregular Markings

Postby Khans » Mon Jul 13, 2015 5:09 am

Eighth of the Angel theme, Azazel (and this babe has a goat eye)

These Angelic tolters are simply called "Angels" or "Angel Tolters, AT" (very creative, I know)
Angels tend to follow their name sake when it comes to personality, so not every Angel is going to be a goodie sugar plum ;) . In appearance, all Angels have glossy, light coloured eyes (pastel almost), and light coloured coats, markings will range. Angels also tend to be taller (no more than 15hh though), smarter, and faster than the average tolter. If you want to know all of the Angels i'm going to do , here is the list. I'm not going to skip any unless it's the same angel but with a different name, so don't worry. If you have any questions feel free to message me!

Quick Bio on Aza: also spelled Azazael (Hebrew: עֲזָאזֵל, Azazel; Arabic: عزازيل , Azāzīl) appears in the Bible in association with the scapegoat rite. In some traditions of Judaism, and Christianity, it is the name for a fallen angel. In Rabbinic Judaism it is not a name of an entity but rather means literally "for the complete removal", ie, designating the goat to be cast out into the wilderness as opposed to the goat sacrificed "for YHWH".

In ancient Greece a cripple or beggar or criminal (the pharmakos) was cast out of the community, either in response to a natural disaster (such as a plague, famine or an invasion) or in response to a calendrical crisis (such as the end of the year). In the Bible, the goat for Azazel was a goat that was designated (Hebrew לַעֲזָאזֵֽל la-aza'zeyl) to be outcast in the desert as part of the ceremonies of the Day of Atonement, that began during the Exodus with the original Tabernacle and continued through the times of the temples in Jerusalem.

The word now refers to someone who is unfairly blamed by others for problems. In psychology and sociology, the practice of selecting someone as a scapegoat has led to the concept of scapegoating. -Wiki

Personality:
Azazel was an escapee of a pair of abusive owners. The two men tried to restrain him, to make him mad. "That's how you get a good rodeo horse", they claimed. They were wrong. Azazel decided that he'd had enough and kicked one of them in the ribs, causing three of them to completely shatter and two to break, one of which punctured his lung. After this, they abandoned Azazel completely, depriving him of basic necessities like food and water. Azazel only dealt with this torture for a few days, playing cruel tricks when he could, smashing the other man into the wall and electric fence a few times. In one of these tries, the man lost hold of the lead rope and Azazel became free. He took refuge in the woods, where he still played these cruel games, not knowing anything better. He was never one to know what love is like, so he never was anything but harsh and towards the other horses. They didn't know what he'd been through, but he refused to tell them anyways.

Your first encounter?:
It was a hot, humid morning when it began. Weird things started happening and quite frankly, I didn't know what to do.

I started off my day as I usually do; I got up to the sound of my alarm, stumbled down my stairs groggily, poured and ate a bowl full of cereal, brushed my teeth, made myself semi-presentable (that really wasn't a concern though, I just planned on staying at my home with the horses), and got changed into my work clothes. I walked through the barn noting that all the horses looked perfectly fine, and then headed towards the paddock. I broke into a sprint at the sight I saw. One of the two horses, Flipside, had a terribly cut up leg, and blood was slowly dripping down it. He was standing and shaking, not even letting me touch him out of fear. Instantly, I whipped my phone out from my pocket and dialled the closest vet's number.

Within ten minutes, the veterinarian came to help with this emergency. The woman looked just as stunned as I was at the injury. "I-I just d-don't know! He w-was fine l-last night a-and...", I stuttered, tears beginning to stream down my face. "You can h-help him, right?", I managed to get out, as my words began to stop. When I stopped speaking, I took a second to calm myself down and dry my face, while the vet pulled certain supplies out of her box and began to investigate his leg. He had calmed down now too, allowing her to help him, but he still looked as terrified as ever. "I need you to go out and buy these things that you'll need to care for him with throughout the next little while", she said, handing me a short list, not even looking up from his leg, which she was in the process of gingerly stitching up and applying various medications to.

I had been going to the same vet for over a year, so I trusted the woman with my horse. I walked back to my driveway at a fast pace and I got into my car, driving off quickly. Within 5 stops over the course of forty-five minutes, I had picked up everything I needed. I returned to my property as soon as I could, and when I got there, I took my bags and began to jog back to the paddock. I had only taken a few steps before the vet came running in my general direction. "THERE'S SOMETHING NOT NORMAL IN THAT FOREST", she screamed as she sprinted right past me to her truck. I was admittedly scared, but I still went back to where the horses were to see that Flipside had been taken care of and moved to his stall. To take my mind off of the fear of what the lady had possible seen, I decided to go for a ride.

In the middle of my ride, I began to hear this bizarre noise. It was almost like a scratching, pawing sound, that was coming from the back area where the fields were. I didn't dare look, but I told myself it was coyotes, even though I knew better than that, as the sound wasn't one they made. This sound made my green horse, Levi, begin to go crazy, so I decided against staying on, so that I wouldn't fall off later. After I put him back and made sure that all my horses were in their stalls safely, I closed all the barn doors and locked them, making sure nothing was getting in or out. I kept emergency supplies and a few days' worth of rations in the barn, as a person that is very over prepared typically. I decided to stay there for the night, but first I called over one of my closest friends, Avalon. She came over quickly and was willing to stay with me throughout the night.

When she arrived, I let her in the barn and closed the doors again behind her. Together, we climbed up the stairs that went up to the hay loft above my barn. I flicked the light switch on, and the two of us began to set up our sleeping bags that I left up there from when we last went camping in the woods. I told Avalon about the events of the day and she was completely intrigued. "I wonder what's going on. Who knows, maybe we'll find out tonight.", she said, glancing back to the window behind her. What she had made me feel really creeped out... More so than earlier in the day at least.

Only an hour had passed when we heard the sound again. The familiar sound sent chills up my arms, but Avalon wasn't phased and ran to the loft's window. "IMOGEN GET OVER HERE", she yelled, and I got up and scrambled over to where she stood, a terrified expression on her face. I had missed whatever she saw, but I was sure it wasn't good. "Avalon, what was it?!", I whispered shakily. "It looked angry. This dark blur w-with white on it. T-Those eyes. Oh my god. The eyes." she blurted out, stuttering slightly. I'd never seen her like this. It must've been terrifying for her because I can only recall ever seeing her scared a small, small handful of times. We soon decided it would be best to get some sleep and search in the morning for whatever creature was out there.

It was around five o'clock a.m. when I woke up to Avalon touching my shoulder. Instantly, the slight stench of old blood in the air hit me. At this moment, our eyes met, and I knew she had been thinking the same thing. We agreed on going out in to the forest, but both of us knew we couldn't go unarmed. We left the loft and headed towards the barn doors, each of us with a way of protecting ourselves. Avalon clutched a sharp little Swiss Army knife that she typically had on her, just in case of coyotes (as they often would walk through the farms in the area). I held a firm grip on a small ax that I kept for cutting off branches that would sometimes grow over the fence of my riding arena. We didn't want to have to use them, but it was good to have them, just in case. With these tools in hand, Avalon and I exited the barn, my brain starting to race a-mile-a-minute with the possible unseen dangers lurking beyond the line of trees.

It had only been twenty-five minutes or so into our search when we glanced down and noticed the dirt had a bit of a reddish tinge to it beside where we were standing. This colour formed a trail that stretched further than the dense clusters of trees allowed us to see. Neither of us said anything, but we were both thinking the same thing; blood. We stopped in our tracks when the branches not too far ahead of us began to snap. My blood began to run cold. Then we saw it. Just a quick glimpse of a muscular, smoky black and white patterned body galloping, and he came back around charging at us. Both of us were able to jump out of the way, but when I turned to see him, all I heard was the snapping of branches once again, and he was out of sight.

That was when I first encountered Azazel.

First Encounter; The ghosts are dormant when light sheds its generous eye. The dead lay sleeping with open eyes, and quiet hands. A wary call is made, guards are unthought-of, and fingers follow a thin piece of wood over an eloquently painted board that carries a cryptic message. Demonic entities prowl, their souls hungering. They can smell mortality through the veil, and they are going to kidnap it into their hungry mouths. Words flow ceaselessly to the telling tool, shared by the hands of the living and the dead. The living fail to realize that danger is nigh, and the dead play a life taking game like a thief plays his fiddle.
Something vile and wicked grew from beneath the earth, crumbling the headstones to pieces, marring previous respects to the dead with a putrid hate for the living. Azazel was awake, and it was his turn to play the game. Panic buzzed in the air around the young faces, and several scattered to safety. One remained, a girl of sixteen with curled honey brown hair and bright eyes. Horror overcame her expression, paralyzing her in place. Azazel strode calmly above the dead, a dark void leaving a lack of light so harsh that you couldn't look directly at him. The girl's scarlet lips parted in amazement, her eyes wide with fear. She couldn't stop from trembling when the stallion stared her down with eyes like rings of fire. The pretext to his message to her was like the earth was breathing in sharply to make room for his voice. "Run." He said, his voice like a backwards, and whispered scream. Her muscles untensed enough for her to trip and turn away, but it was like a nightmare where time slowed down for her. The stallion advanced on her at a walk, his being in several places around her at once.
"Goodbye, innocent soul." With that, the light was shut out, and she was left in darkness.

Name: Fly Me Far Away // Houdini
Gender: Stallion
Halter color: White with bird silhouettes or wings
Personalty: Typically, Houdini is a bit hard to actually meet. He lived at a breeding stable, but not exactly a nice one. The horses are beaten and whipped, but Houdini was the horse who got the most blame. The stallion learned that he could knock off a rail from the fence and jump it and also unlock his stall. He never shows off for the mares or races around with the stallions. Houdini acts more like Houdini then a horse. Because of his love to escape, many of the horses make fun of him and purposes mock him by knocking over fences and blaming him. All Houdini truly wants is someone who understands him and to get somewhere where he is no outcast and somewhere where he wasn't blamed for everything. It all changed once he finally manage to jump to fence of the back pasture. He galloped and galloped away. Far away from his home. The nervous stallion roamed across the fields, sneaking into stables and eating grain, but never stayed in once play too long.

Your first encounter?:
My father and I went on a long hike. Once and a while we just decided to take a long hike through the valleys, and hope to get a glimpse of the wild horses that roamed the fields. In pervious years, the closest we got was seeing the tail of a wild stallion rushing off into the bushes.

"Ready, kiddo?" My father said as we began our hike into the woods. "Ready then ever. Maybe we can actually get a glimpse of a wild horse today." I said happily as we walked along a path into the woods away from the stable.

About an hour through our hike, we came up to an old, broken fence. Ivy grew all along the fence, but it began to crack and screech as we opened it. "Wow.. This must be that abusive farm. I heard all the horses were taken away from her, but one of them managed to escape. That women was crazy, she beat the horses and used to whip them. When she got a foal, she used to sell it right away or lock it in a stall away from it's parents.. I heard she died in the stable due to a heart attack.." I mumbled, wanting to get far away from there. "Let's go.." My father said.

It felt like someone was watching us. Or something. The air was tight. Suddenly they both turned around and came face to face with the stallion. The stallion reared up and flinched as I took a step towards it. "Please watch out.. I have a feeling he isn't happy to see us here." My father whispered. "I think he's the stallion from the story.. See the scars?" I say as I point to the markings on his back. Most of them were mostly healed, but they looked very rough over the winged shaped patched of white. "Isn't he gorgeous?" I say as I watched the stallion rear up and whinny loudly. "No one has seen him in so long. Many people have reported knocked over fences and lost grain, but I thought it was all a folktale. He's like Houdini, it was all just an act until it was life or death. I don't want this Houdini having the same ending.. He needs someone." I say as I watch him race off into the dark shadows of the trees. He became a small silhouette, but we kept watching him. "Don't worry. Even Houdini couldn't can't put on his act forever. Eventually he will return, and we will be here to accept him." My father says and pats my shoulder.

Re: #3107 Smoky Black Irregular Minimal Overo Irregular Mark

Postby broken* » Mon Jul 13, 2015 12:31 pm

    username: broken*
full name: your blood will make me stronger
    aka demon
    gender: stallion

halter color: an irregular mix of light and dark yellow such as this

personality: he is a cruel tyrant who wants nothing more than to achieve his purpose. he is the leader of a huge band of bachelor stallions who are known for running rampant through herds, causing chaos, destruction, and mainly, death. blood is something he does not fear; oh no, in fact, he practically worships it. being the cause of that crimson liquid to flow from anothers' warm body causes him to grin, with a feeling of happiness filling him. he has an intensely sadistic sense of humor that reminds others of a dark psychopath.

    your first encounter?:
I am a photographer. horses have been a love of mine since I was a child and I had my first pony cocoa. so when I was given the opportunity to intern underneath a famous horse photographer to photograph an area known for its icelandic tolters, I took it without a second thought. but I never dreamed that it would go the way that it did. I was expecting the weather to be cold, for it was iceland, you know, claimed to be icey white and cold. I thought we'd be lucky to see one small herd of mares with a single band stallion. oh how wrong I was.
what I saw was a gorgeous shocker, something I never imagined. there was a herd, a herd composed of dozens and dozens of tolters. but there was something strange about them. they were all stallions, and, while being defiant creatures by nature, for some odd reason they obeyed one stallion. he was clearly the oldest and most matured of the group, that was clear. he was huge, standing taller than the rest of them, with muscles covering his body like a second coat. he was a gorgeous overo, although his markings were a bit on the irregular and odd side, they just added to the air of mystery and suspense he gave off. his right eye was covered in a faded, light pink, and I was left to assume, from the distance between he and I, that it was a scar from a battle in the past.
as my mentor and I continued to watch this herd, we followed them as this lead stallion, still unnamed, as he grew a determined air about him, letting out a shrill scream before taking off towards the east. the herd moved like one horse after him. we had no idea what we were about to witness. in the distance, a small herd could be seen. there was one horse clearly a stallion, about five mares, and a set of twin foals. the herd of stallions created a thundering sound as their hooves beat down in unison, a tremble racing through the area. the small herd began to run, the stallion nipping at the heels of his mares, but the foals especially were falling behind, and the most shocking fact; he left them and put all his focus on his mares. one of the foals stumbled, obviously born in the last twenty-four hours, and as its body fell, the second foal tripped over its fallen sibling. what happened next scarred me forever.

this lead stallion of this bachelor band went straight for the two foals, his hooves coming up in a rear before pounding down. the sound of bones crushing filled the entire valley, and, as he left the tiny bodies for others to finish off, he went after the horses still running for their lives, his larger body easily catching up to and passing them, cutting off their only escape route. they all struggled to come to a stop as he let out a scream, his teeth flashing, his nostrils flaring, and the next thing I knew, he was trotting off, his herd following after him, his body no longer definable as an overo pattern, now practically coated in the sticky red substance. blood was everywhere, and the horror of what we had just witnessed, the utter brutality and no remorse, made a shiver run through my spine.

it was then that I knew his name, and my mentor agreed with me the moment that those words left my mouth. they were soft, frail, hardly even making their way from my barely parted lips. "your blood makes me stronger - he is demon."

other just so you know, I got my idea for this darling stallion from azazel in supernatural
