#3102 Blue Roan Tovero (grey)

Postby Khans » Mon Jul 13, 2015 3:14 am

Sixth of the Angel theme, Arariel

These Angelic tolters are simply called "Angels" or "Angel Tolters, AT" (very creative, I know)
Angels tend to follow their name sake when it comes to personality, so not every Angel is going to be a goodie sugar plum ;) . In appearance, all Angels have glossy, light coloured eyes (pastel almost), and light coloured coats, markings will range. Angels also tend to be taller (no more than 15hh though), smarter, and faster than the average tolter. If you want to know all of the Angels i'm going to do , here is the list. I'm not going to skip any unless it's the same angel but with a different name, so don't worry. If you have any questions feel free to message me!

Quick Bio on Ara: (also called Azariel) is an angel who, according to the rabbis of the Talmud, takes charge of the waters of the earth. Fishermen invoke him so that they may take large fish. Arariel has also traditionally been invoked as a cure for stupidity. -Wiki

User: Great/ Kalon

Name: O̱keanós Ángelos // Arariel, O̱keanós Ángelos meaning 'ocean angel' in Greek.

Gender: Stallion

Halter color: inspired by this, with gold buckles and a golden horseshoe on the cheekstrap.

Personalty: Arariel generally appears as a rather secretive and anti-social horse. He prefers to keep his distance from the others, and to watch instead of being shoved right into the action. Sometimes he may appear a little lost at sea; but Arariel always knows where he is going. He is easy to please, and often notices small acts of kindness whether directed towards him or others; and often gifts those he favors. Though Arariel is a generally down-to-earth and gentle tolter, he is easy to anger and difficult to calm down.

    Username: Great ;

Your first encounter where you realized that this was a angel tolter?:

It was a rather warm day; the sun, for once, was shining proudly above, chasing away the typical shadows that lurked ground-level. I was gathered, with quite a number of other people; clustered under the awning of a large covered arena to escape the sun’s heat, aching for a cool breeze. Before me passed many horses; coats gleaming with sweat as they were paraded one by one around the arena, all hounded with bids. I was planning to take something home; but at this rate, I wouldn’t even get a chance to bid.

Three large stallions caught my eye; one after the other they trotted in, muscles contracting and extending under supple skin. The first two went fast, but people seemed a bit hesitant to bid on the third-as was I. The stallion was the largest I had seen; tall, well-muscled too. His coat was a unique blue roan, pristine white stockings stretching to his knees, and a large tovero marking that to me looked like a wing crossed over his neck, shoulder, and barrel. He should have gone for a very high price, very fast-but there was something about him. Maybe it was the way his pale, pale eyes flickered over the crowd, or the way his head was held like he was royalty; whatever it was, the stallion had managed to put all of the audience in a trance-like state.

Some managed to snap out of it and raised their cards; as did I. Before I knew it, I had bought a beautiful stallion with an entrancing aura, who continued to hold his head high as he completed his circle in the sand, hooves leaving perfect marks. The strangest thing was that, even on a scorching day like this, water polled in his hoof prints and his only. My mind flickered to something, but I shoved it away quickly; I needed to go collect my stallion.

The groom explained that his name was O̱keanós Ángelos, ‘ocean angel’ in Greek. They hadn’t found a call name for him yet, and had taken to just calling him the water horse. As I stood there, the stallion’s lead resting heavily in my palms, his pale eyes locked onto mine; and the world around me blurred. There was something about him; perhaps because his coat wasn’t quite dry, but damp, not with sweat but with water that had seemingly appeared from nowhere. Maybe the groom had hosed him down- yes, that must have been it.

Still, something was strange about him.

When I returned home, it was an immediate decision among my family and friends to ride down to the beach; not very far away. Deciding it would be alright for the new stallion to cool down in the nearby salty waves, we began to call the other horses in and tack them up. He was trained to be ridden, and clearly did not favor the saddle, but tolerated it, proceeding to glare at me until I removed it from him. He did not accept the metal bar of a bit settling between his teeth either; eventually he settled for the halter and me, bareback.

As soon as the salty air around the beach began to curl around us and his hooves sunk into the black sand, my stallion began to prance in place, muscles churning, nostrils flaring. He was not fearful of the water, but excited; I could hardly contain him as we neared the tides. The moment he stepped into the water, it seemed to clear, and suddenly I could see small colorful fish darting between his legs as the murkiness was swept away. He lifted his muzzle and called; not a whinny, but deep and throaty, sounding nearly like a horn.

Then I connected the pieces-still blurry and a bit fragmented, something about angel horses-and the stallion’s wing markings suddenly made sense, how he was so strongly drawn to the water.

Arariel. That was it, the water angel. The stallion's name.

And before I could quite process it, Arariel leapt forward, and I with him; straight into the waves.

Username: Rio_98
Name: Azure Ocean // Arariel
Gender: stallion
Halter color: something like this please
Personalty: Ara is snarky and sarcastic to the extreme. He absolutely cannot tolerate stupidity of any sort, which means he's also not particularly fond of foals or other young idiots. He's not very patient or understanding at the best of times and tends to snap.
Your first encounter where you realized that this was an angel tolter?: It was bright autumn afternoon when I wandered down to the pasture to watch the horses. I'd had a rough couple of days and the horses grazing calmly in the pasture always relaxed me. I pulled myself up the fence and sat on the top rail. Looking out I spotted one of the new additions to the stable, a pretty blue roan named Arariel. He was off to the far right on his own, lazing about in the shade of a tree. Casanova, a cocky stallion who loved to show off for the mares, broke off from their' little group and headed towards Ara. I watched curiously as Ara completely dismissed the other stallion, turning away and continuing to graze. Casanova clearly didn't appreciate that because he flattened his ears a bit and nipped Ara's rump. Hard. The blue roan whipped around and pinned his ears back, nostrils flaring. Worried, I straighten up looking around to see if someone could help me separate the two aggressive horses. Before I could decide on the best course of action, a loud, angry squeal sounded and pulled my attention back to the pasture. Casanova was rearing, scrapping as best he could at Ara with his forelegs. Now I was really concerned, because Casanova had Arariel trapped up against the tree with no way out. I hopped down off the fence into the pasture and started jogging towards them, not exactly thinking rationally. As I approached the two powerful stallions I slowed, considering my options. Ara was taller than Cas but Casanova was more built and had a significant weight advantage over Ara. There was no way anyone, horse or otherwise, would be moving Casanova without his permission. I came to a complete stop serval yards away from them. Casanova had his ears pinned back, snapping at Ara every time he so much as twitched. Ara was clearly getting fed up with Cas's antics. I inched closer hesitantly when all of a sudden Ara's patience apparently ran dry because he lunged forward. Casanova's considerable bulk shouldn't have move an inch but suddenly he had stumbled back several steps, a shocked look on his equine face that I'm sure matched mine. Ara turned his back on the bigger horse, like he had not a care in the world, and resumed his grazing. Casanova slowly backed off, clearly as intimated of Ara as I was impressed. There was no way this new addition was just another regular horse.

(Based on Aer the Water Spirit, another bab based on a Mabinogi character. I explained this before but I want a theme where I have a Tolter from every important NPC because it's my favorite game. :>)
With hair that seems as pale as water,
he is a horse whose body is so slender that he actually seems as if he could slip through the cracks of my hand.
He is looking my way with his endlessly pale, snowing blue eyes.
His pale skin show uncertainty and wariness, as if at the slightest movement, he might run away.

Username: OvercastKid
Name: Twilight Behind The Sea 'Arariel'
Gender: Stallion
Halter color: Black
Personalty: Powerful and noble, this horse is naturally respected. It's in the way he walks with authority which speaks that he should be respected. He is fair and protective. Arariel has a very short temper though and can be quite hostile around children or foals.
Your first encounter where you realized that this was a angel tolter?:

Halloween is my favourite holiday of the year. I will dress up, you cannot stop me. Usually, I will ride Wentz around and dress up as Jack Skellington, because I can. Last year after all the children had gone in, it was about 11pm at night, I was heading back to the stables because Wentz was getting agitated. The children all loved Wentz for his unusual facial marking that made him look slightly like a skeleton but Wentz didn't like the children, he just boldly put up with them for that one night. Anyway, I was heading back to the stables when I got a glance of a glowing white creature. It illuminated the darkness and light a path up. It caught Wentz's attention before mine. I saw the tail end of the illumination as it disappeared. (So tempted to link the What's This? song) I spun Wentz around on his feet quickly and set him into a gallop after this light that shone a path. We chased it through to Central Park. I lost sight of it. I slowed the black stallion beneath me to a walk, looking around for a sign, a glimpse of this... this thing! We made our way through Central Park until we came to the lake. That's when I saw it. A horse. It was a skewbald. It's white patches shone and lit up the forest. It was stood by the lake with it's elegant neck lowered so it's gentle muzzle brushed the water sending a gentle ripple. One of those Angel tolters thought to be of myth! I wanted it badly. Maybe I could capture him? I thought. Then I noticed Wentz's ears flattened by his head. He let out a nasty shriek and reared. I hastily leaned forward. I closed my eyes as I remembered... Wentz was a demon tolter. A third generation demon. This was going to end badly. I had to get off and quick! I swung off my black horse and stumbled to get away from him. The glowing stallion radiated light so bright that it hurt my eyes. I noticed Wentz's eyes had changed. They... They were a glossy and black and before I could look deeper into them I recalled someone telling me not to stare into a demon tolter's eyes if this happened.[ The angel tolter turned to him. I remembered this ones name. He was called Arariel and he was the angel of the sea. Arariel flattened his ears at Wentz and then Wentz charged. The two stallions clashed with a mighty shriek. I stumbled back onto my backside and crawled away from the two powerful arch enemies. They reared and bit at each other. I watched in horror as Wentz attacked Arariel and Arariel attacked him and I couldn't do a thing about it. Suddenly, I noticed Wentz's reins dangling dangerously at his side. I ran up to the stallions and dodging flying hooves, I grabbed the rein and yanked it with all my might. Wentz, luckily for me had a pelham so he jumped away with shock. The two stallions were tired and sweaty. If they had gone on longer I'm sure they would have died with exhaustion as each was as powerful as the other. I left the angel by his lake and took Wentz back. I hosed him off and put him in his stable. Once I had left to go back to my house, I planned on how I would catch this angel tomorrow.
