He is based off of the sun. His yellow markings glow, and yes that is a sun on his forehead. If you were to join him in my rp, I would probably pick him as the dragon elder of fire (there is only one for each element, they are ultimate masters at that particular element)

Edit: name changed. Ryuukin means Dragon Gold. Kinryuu looked weird, which would have ment Gold Dragon. Its Japanese
