Evangeline hates Valentines Day because it terrifies her. Genophobia, philophobia, it's really a mix. Evangeline is afraid of intimacy, romance, even just kissing or holding hands freaks her out. She can't stand the idea of being close with someone and Valentines Day is the day she spends her time curled up in her room, stuffing her face with ice cream, filled with defensive anger and overpowered by immense stress. Any attempts at enjoying this holiday have ended horribly and Evangeline just ends up a mess. She's embarrassed and won't seek help for it, as she is humiliated by the fact she is so scared of something that everyone else finds so pleasant. Her hate is derived from fear, making her difficult to deal with the week prior, and week after the holiday. The day of the holiday, she is unreachable and always spends alone.
