Her Home wrote:Lilith has a unique place to live on Purgatory, a jungle! Undocumented on maps of the planet, she herself only stumbled apon it by accident. However, even with out any other purgoes to compete with for food, water, shelter, and life, she still feels the need to take many precautions to protect herself. Her hut is at the top of a tall fruit tree, and the only way to get up is by rope ladder, one she has made sure she can cut off if someone else trys to climb up. Even though a jungle seems like a paradise on this planet, it isn't as nice as it may seem, with little above-ground water, and even less prey.
Relationships wrote:Alli- Lilith met Alli one day while trading for goods near an oasis. They swapped info of goods routes to take between different oasises, learned they were both headed to the same oasis next, traveled together, and quickly became good friends. They travel together often, though less since they found the jungle, because Lilith prefers to stay in her jungle. Lilith loves Alli like the little sister she never had.
Tomas- A purgo Lilith often trades with, since he often has quality stuff to trade. However, Lilith knows he isn't above thievery and scamming, and makes sure to look carefully over any goods he offers.
Paradise on Purgatory wrote:Two purgoes, Alli and Lilith had been traveling for days trying to find another oasis.
"Alli, are you sure you're reading the map right? This trip is only supposed to take about three days. We've been traveling seven." Lilith said, annoyed.
"I'm trying! This map is really messy and hard to read!" Alli snapped back.
"Where did you get this map anyway?"
"I traded Tomas for it. He said it was a shortcut to the next oasis."
"ALLI! You should know as well as I that Tomas will do anything to trade for what he needs!" Lilith sighed, getting increasing more annoyed.
"Well excuuuuuse me princess! He only wanted a bit of food, and I figured a bit less extra food was worth getting to the next oasis faster."
Lilith grumbled under her breath, but noticing something in the distance, gasped.
"Lilith! Are you okay?" Alli asked, slightly startled.
"Alli.." Lilith said quietly, "Is that what it looks like?" She pointed to a patch of green in the distance.
"What... Is that? A... Jungle!" Alli became very excited by this. "Lilith! This.. Could be great! Jungles have trees and food and valuable plants to trade and-"
Lilith tuned her out, and started walking faster towards the green in the distance.
"Wait up!" Alli barked, speeding up her pace to try to catch up with her friend. Lilith, however, had already broken into a sprint towards the newfound jungle.
Not Even Paradise is Perfect wrote:"Woah..." Lilith gasped. She'd heard of jungles, but only in legends and fairy tales. Though she'd had always dreamed of seeing one, Lilith never thought she'd ever be in one. Alli, on the other hand, was sprinting from one plant to another, obsessing over each one, wondering how much she could get trading one.
"Hey Lilith! How do you suppose we'd trade anything? Since, ya know, we're forever away from any trading posts"
"I don't even caaaaa-aare right now! Look at this place! Like something right out of a fairy tale!"
"I thought she was supposed to be the mature one here..." Alli muttered to herself.
Despite any worries though, the two settled down in the jungle once night fell, exhausted from several long days of travel. However, later the next day they ran into a serious problem.
"I can't find any water!' Lilith reported to Alli once the two had separately explored the forest.
"Well neither can I!" barked Alli. "I can't find any prey either! And with no trading posts anywhere near, how are we going to get anything?"
Lilith, not wanting to give up her jungle, even with all its problems, thought for a second before suggesting, "Maybe, there might be water inside the trees? And there's at least fruit everywhere, we can eat that, right? And who needs anything when a jungle can supply everything?" She was talking fast and nervously.
Alli sighed, "I guess so. We may as well give this jungle a chance."
A Traveller and a New Home wrote:Over the course of the next few weeks, Lilith became increasingly happy with her new home, while Alli became increasingly more annoyed.
Finally after a week of living there, Alli lost her patience.
"I can't do this Lilith!" Alli spoke suddenly. "I don't want to settle down in this place! I'm a wanderer, a traveller, and I just can't stay here any longer!"
Lilith was surprised by the sudden outburst. "Alli, this place is perfect! Why would you want to leave?! Even if you're so used to traveling, surely this of places is a perfect place for a home."
"I don't know Lilith.. In my whole life, even if I'm still young, I've never lived anywhere for long. But, I know I can't stay here." And with that, she left.
A Friend is Not Lost wrote:Nearly two weeks later, when Lilith had figured she'd never see Alli again, she returned.
"Lilith!" She called, looking up at Lilith's hut in the tree. "I'm back!"
"Are you here to stay?" Lilith asked hopefully.
"Well, no. But I did mark a route here so I can trade at another oasis. I brought some stuff with me!"
Lilith sighed, but was still cheerful, knowing she had not lost her friend. She came down from her tree, and chatted with Alli.
