[folktale]

The first of a couple first gens I am posting tonight to tide y'all over for awhile while I deal with some IRL matter-juggling C:

Sometimes, folks need to spend some time by themselves. Maybe it's to recharge, maybe to collect their thoughts - there's plenty of reasons! To try out for this gal, tell me where she goes when she wants to be alone?

Username: Jinx.
Equid's Name: Pyxadis

Gender: Mare

Lone location: Pyx, who is coincidentally named after a constellation, finds herself most content in a little clearing in a nearby forest. This clearing is very specific; on a clear night, the milky way is easily distinguishable from the clearing, and rarely anyone can find it due to the forest being so thick and dense. To those like Pyx, who has walked the worn path a million times before, it's easily found. The landmark that indicates the beginning of the path to the clearing is an old barbed wire fence that's been toppled over. Following the barely noticeable dirt trail will take you to a deadfall. Clambering over the deadfall will take you to the clearing, which is littered with burnt tree stumps and branches. It was burnt down in a forest fire and never grew back, for some reason. The only exception are little daisies that are dotted around in the grass. Here is where you will find Pyx when she wants to be alone.

Lone location: When you want to get away, there's only one place to hide: in plain sight. Nimuë relies on the illusion of socialization in order to escape, and as such buries herself within a herd or area of activity. She then simply lowers her head to graze or assumes actions allusive to interaction. From there, she is left alone with simply her thoughts, floating along like a leaf in water: appropriate to the setting, yet still so distant from other elements.

Lone location: The only time Indra really ever feels the need to be alone is when she's angry or fixing to make a important decision. She retreats to a small pine grove that resides on the edge of a cliff and when she's angry she pushes stuff off and pretends its her problems but when she's deciding she'll usually sit under a pine tree and just zone out.

Lone location: being a wild quid, there are many places that Aviva has to choose from when she wants to be alone. Her favorite secluded place to take a break though is a small waterfall and pool at the top of one of the mountain trails. Many don't wish to make the hike up to the area, so she has the beauty all to herself while she needs it.

Lone location: Mercury has a secret spot in the mountains where she goes whenever she wants to relax or be alone. In the mountains she found a small cave. She had entered that cave and walked through the pure darkness and came upon what she thinks is the most beautiful spot on earth. The cave there is open from the top, letting the light stream through. A small pool of water rests to the side with ivy and other plants climbing down the side of the cave walls. The ground is covered in soft moss sprinkled with little white flowers, making it the perfect place to lay down and relax. It is her safe spot and a place she can truly call her own.

Lone location: When this mare wants to be alone, the only place she can think of going is to a little secret clearing she found when she was a young filly. The small clearing is far off from any trail the other equids would take, so it's peaceful and quiet for her. In this little spot, she will drag beds of moss to a sun spot place and lay on it. She most enjoys to close her eyes and take in the wonderful scents of roses that grew along the boarder of the clearing. It is her most treasured place to be, and she is happy to make this place her own little sanctuary.

Lone location: Tori would go the forrest where she relaxes most of the time. There is a large willow tree that she tends to lay under when she needs to get away from everything. Theres even a little whole in the tree where she keeps some nick-nacks and trinckets. Not too far from the woods there is a large waterfall and a small lake under it where she can go swimming or even sit by the bank and watch the small fish that live in the lake

Lone location: There is a cave at the bottom of the mountains she discovered and hid away in as a foal after a fight with her mother, ever since then when she wants to be alone she almost always retreats to there, as she's grown the cave almost became to small for her as while it's fairly wide and long, it's not really tall, but she can still fit in it, unlike most other equids since they are taller. She also likes that her coat blends in perfectly with the inside of the cave, so even when other equids pass by it they never notice her.

Lone location: Zemoura finds redemption where others might not. This 'shady lady' has a fondness for the marsh for the briny waters of bays. Though It's not often this wild equid finds herself upon a bay or briney marsh often; in desperate times she will travel far and wide to find her sense of redemption. The brine of a bay is not always beautiful, often the sand is dirty , littered with garbage or unsightly seaweed. And, the water smells more of fish and salt than that of the more desirable beach. Zemoura finds redemption here because of the isolation and lack of adoration for the bay. She loves the bay despite the fact there are more desirable places others might find a bit more alluring - nonetheless this spot is important to her. It's become quite the metaphor for the anxious girlie - just because you're not everyone's first choice doesn't mean you're not number one for someone else. You are important to someone, you are the first choice to someone - you are important.
This thought helps her in times of inner stress, this thought reminds her to take a breath of the grimy, salty air and find love in the flaws of that around you.
