To be honest, this isn't my best, but i'm still trying to figure out the lines and shading, and how to use it to my advantage. Each species is different I guess!

The greying modifier is really interesting, it's an age-linked trait. A "grey" horse is born with whatever color, but as it ages it begins to gray more and more, until it's basically white, but its skin will usually be black for its entire life. Sometimes a horse will plateau in its greying stage for awhile, or even stop completely, resulting in a rose grey, steel grey, flea bitten grey, etc....

Now that I think about it, it's kinda like human hair, just a little. As we get older, our hair starts to grey xD

Anyways, a horse with a two homozygous dominant greying alleles ( so GG, and not Gg or gg) will often grey faster and the horse will be completely gray or plateau earlier in its life. I hope that made sense lol please let me know if it didn't. c:

My grandparents had a foal born bay, and now he's a pretty dapple grey. I just know that certain genes that are doubled can result in a full white horse [like all the crazy lethal white related genes], but none of what you said was very confusing. I didn't know that steel grey and fleabitten greys are a result of the greying gene, i'll have to remember that when I breed more adopts for other species. c:
