He will always be the first to come and greet you and the last to leave you when you arrive or depart from the ranch. He does have his other side though, he is a playful stallion who doesn't always understand his weight or boundaries. When on a leadrope he has a habit of side walking and pulling away towards the grass, due to his natural strength he often gets there in the end. If he does happen to get the leadrope from your hand he will move away and if you try to chase and catch him he will keep running, yet if you pretend you don't care and walk away as such he will come after you, purely because he doesn't like to be left alone.
☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳Ｑｕｉｒｋｓ Chasing CarsWhen it comes to cars and moving vehicles Dakota lacks his road sense, he has a habit of chasing after cars. He has been known for stopping traffic more than a few times although luckily has never been hit by a car. There is a reason for this though, when he was younger a man used to hold the rope out the window and let him move alongside the car, this was supposed to be so that he wasn't afraid of them but that backfired when he continued to want to move alongside them as he grew older.
☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳ＬｉｋｅｓRainDakota loves the rain. If he is inside when it starts he will make as much noise and fuss as possible until someone comes to let him out in it. Why he likes it so much is unknown, although most people think it is because when he rolls it makes him that extra bit more muddy, so they have to spend even longer trying to get him cleaned up when he returns back inside the following day.
Sweets Should it be chocolate cake or lollipops Dakota loves has a sweet tooth for it all. When they tried to put him on a kind of diet to stop him from eating them he refused to eat anything at all until he got his sweets back. Nowadays they have given up, mixing in a few with his everyday feed in order to make sure that he eats it all.
Other AnimalsWhen it comes to other animals, Dakota is a very curious big horse. He doesn't appear to understand that some are smaller than him, chasing them so they have to run for dear life to get away from his thundering hooves. While they don't know it, all he really wants to do is play with them.
☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳☮☯➳ＤｉｓｌｉｋｅｓStanding StillIn his life, Dakota has never been able to stand still for more than a few minutes at a time. He is a very active horse and should it just be walking around or working he will do anything to ensure he doesn't have to just stand still. Even when it comes to shows it takes a lot of bribery to make him stay in the ring, let alone in the same spot.
Being Left AloneWhen left alone Dakota can occasionally panic, he has an almost fear to being left by himself. Although this rarely happens since when he is outside he is always making a new friend somewhere or other, and even when inside he tends to have the other horses around him. When not with either, theres always a person around him somewhere or other.
Being Locked InsideDakota can become easily bored and because of this, hates to be locked in his box. While he may still have other horses around him it just isn't the same as being outside with them where he is able to play. When inside he gnaws on the wood and on occasions kicks out which leaves his box completely wrecked, having to be repaired often.
