╔═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
.. Username: HannahBug ... Name: Jerrup ... Nickname: Grasshopper ... Gender: Male ... Element: Air ... Level: 19 ...
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Personality

This kida was born for action... er, that's what he thinks at least. Jerrup is an adventure lover and always looking for something thrilling to do. He gets great enjoyment out of tempting fate, which isn't the smartest thing to do, especially since he's a walking disaster. Despite his horrible coordination, Jerrup has a huge ego and always seems to have something to boast about. Granted, the vast majority of what he says isn't impressive at all, but even the slightest comment about his "achievements" will go straight to his head. He's one of those people that's always seeking attention and will do almost anything to get it. On the brighter side, Jerrup almost always has a perky and upbeat attitude. He has a ridiculous amount of determination and one would be hard pressed to persuade him to give up on anything, no matter how small or stupid. He's an extrovert as well, so he'll happily babble your ears off if you're willing to listen. Not being the brightest crayon in the box, his strategies and plans often have blaring flaws that he's overlooked. Unfortunately, he doesn't want to spend the time perfecting his plans and would rather jump into the action. Being quite fast, he can normally outrun his problems... as long as he doesn't trip or run into a tree.... Despite his tendency to flee (because why fight melee when you can shoot your enemies down?), Jerrup has a fiery temper which can be activated by poking fun at him. Once his ego is damaged, he'll try to beat up or scare away the offender to prove that he's... better... or something....

Boss
Image
A giant wolf spider
Quirks
-- He has horrible arachnophobia, the fear
of spiders.
-- One of his "worst" insults is calling someone
an NPC.
-- He despises water. He won't go near it if he
doesn't have to.
-- Animals seem to hate him
Relationship with the others
Rouge: "FIGHT ME, LOOSER."
Warrior: "Okay, but... all they do is smash things. I could
do that. Smash things. It's not that hard. Look, look, I'll
show you how easy it is. Watch." -proceeds to injure
himself while trying-

Mage: -totally not jealous of all their magical abilities-

Battle!

It was a perfect day outside. The sky was completely blue, without a cloud to cover its smooth surface. Birds chirped happily and wildlife played in the tall grass. But, Jerrup wasn't there to see it. In fact, he may have been a mile or two beneath it. Because he had been pestering the occupants of a nearby village out of pure boredom, someone had given him a mission to complete. It was a nonsense mission, but at least it would get the noisy kida out of the streets for a while. He had been sent down into the tunnel systems to find mushrooms or spy on goblins mining ores.... Actually, he couldn't remember what he was doing, but he was sure he would know what he was looking for when he saw it. So far, though, the whole thing had kinda sucked. It was so dark that he had already run into several walls and stubbed several toes. In hindsight, he should have brought a lantern or a torch -- anything, really. But, he wasn't going to go back for supplies now. No, he couldn't risk his ego for light, of all things.

After ramming into a curved wall for the millionth time, the kida finally saw something encouraging. A dull silvery light was being cast from what looked like a hollowed out room up ahead. Eagerly, he picked up his pace a bit, tripping over a large rock in the process, but he didn't let the phase him. Without hesitation, he trotted into the stone room, seeking the source of the light. Unfortunately, the hollow wasn't much to speak for. Thin veins of a shining ore -- the source of the light -- snaked along the walls. Other than that, the place was bare. With a groan, the Kidambura tried to remember if this is what he was looking for.

His thought process was interrupted by a wet sounding hiss that came from behind him. Out of instinct, he spun around ready to fend off an attacker, but the opponent was sulking in the one rounded edge of the room that the silver light didn't reach. Of course. With an irritated huff he started griping to the shadows "Either come out or keep your trap shut! I have better things to do." The darkness replied with another low hiss and Jerrup lashed his tail, making the metal ring in his fur scrape across the stone "Listen here you--" He began, puffing up his chest, but he was cut off by a realization. This side of the cave was coated in spiderwebs. Not the kind that little spiders would make and then leave behind a week later, either. These were about as thick as the kida's wrist.

The ranger seemed to deflate in an instant. There were several things wrong with this picture. 1: He really did better fighting in open spaces. The turns of these tunnels would make it difficult to hit anything 2: He was low on arrows. That was another thing he should have stocked up on. His quiver only held four 3: There was a spider back there. A spider. And it was going to be bigger than he was. Probably a higher level, too. All of that just wasn't something he was willing to deal with. What was it for anyway? A couple pieces of coin? Nope, not worth it.

Before he had time to do anything, though, the scraping sound of an insect's joints echoed across the walls. Letting out another hiss, the spider crawled into view. Jerrup was just going to back away very slowly and come and do this another day, but the spider -- giant spider -- had other ideas. It screeched, like the kind of screech that makes your ears feel like they should be bleeding, and started to slink towards the kida. Jerrup quickly began his retreat, except the spider was already squatting in front of the tunnels he had entered from "Oh...uh...okay...." Maybe he could buy time. Does that even work on spiders? He didn't know because he doesn't do spiders.

Image

"Could you maybe not?" He watched for the spider to shift so that he could dash past it, but it didn't look like that was going to happen. It was just watching him for the moment, to see what he would do, probably waiting for him to panic and wear himself out. If that's what it wanted, it was sure getting its way. Luckily, he realized he had over looked something: this cave was not a dead end. Although it was small, there was another tunnel branching off of the room and it sat very close to the spot of pure darkness. He had to hope that didn't lead to a dead end, though "Thishasbeenfunbyeeeee" He yelled a little louder than necessary as he bolted for his escape route. The spider let out a scream of rage, and Jerrup thought he saw static flicker across the room. Even if it had just been his imagination, it gave him all the more reason to run faster.

He had been sure that the tunnel was too small for the spider to fit, but he heard it scraping behind him when he had only gone in about ten feet. He looked over his shoulder to see, but the light of the cave had been cut off and replaced with eight flecks of yellow light. A long leg lashed out at his tail and the ranger may or may not have screamed like a girl. He burst into a panicked run, hoping that this tunnel didn't have any sudden turns. Also, readied his bow. Although it didn't sound like a great idea, he was pretty sure he was going to have to shoot in here. The scrabbling noises from the creature behind him didn't falter as the spider gave chase.

Unfortunately, the tunnels did house several sharp turns and Jerrup lost some speed due to ramming headfirst into a wall of stone. Because of this, he didn't have an opening to turn and fire at the spider. He was pretty sure it was gaining on him, but he could see an advantage for him coming up. This tunnel lead to the surface and bright sunlight was shining down into the tunnels from just a few feet ahead. It would only be a few second til he got there...except he tripped. He couldn't have helped it. These stupid caves were laced with unnecessary rocks that were so easy to trip over. Thankfully, the spider was going fast enough that it ran right over him, somehow without stepping on him. Unfortunately, that meant the spider was now in front of him, blocking the entrance.

He was afraid the spider was going to whip around and tear him to pieces, but nothing happened. Slowly, Jerrup got to his paws and watched the spider squirm angrily, hissing nonstop. He realized that the creature hardly fit and that there wasn't enough room for it to turn around. Laughing nervously and quickly retreating backwards, he sat on the stone floor, trying to figure out what he was going to do since he had time now. After taking an unnecessarily long time to think it over, he came up with the genius plan to travel back through the caves the way he had come. Although the spider continued to hiss at him, he puffed up his chest once again and confidently headed back down the dark tunnel, a smug look on his face.

By the time he finally made it out of the tunnels and to the surface, he had long forgotten about the mission he was supposed to be finishing. He was a little disappointed that he didn't find any loot anywhere, though, therefore wasting his time. Instead of sulking about it, he trotted off in a random direction to search for a new town to explore and new villagers to annoy until they gave him something important sounding to do.
