To go with the Karabakh Stallion.

Also called Karabakhskaya, the Karabakh horse is an ancient saddle breed that was developed in Nagorny Karabakh in Azerbaijan.
Coming from an area well known for producing good horses, the breed was created by crossing native Azerbaijan animals with Turkmenian, Perisan & Arabian blood (although the Arabian is perhaps the most evident physically).

The Karabakh breed has been bred & raised in the mountains for a long time and the region has shaped them in many ways. The breed was instrumental in formation of the Don breed . Unfortunately an invasion by Iran destroyed many of the stud farms & others were forced to flee which took a toll on breed numbers.

Today very few purebred animals remain. Although several breeding programs have been established to preserve their bloodlines, unfortunately none of them have been wildly successful.

Height ranges from 14.1 - 14.3 (not many options).

They are used as a riding horse or in some cases used to improve other breeds.

Personality: Ava is a very shy mare, she doesn't like many other horses and human children scare her. She freezes up a lot when being ridding because she gets so scared. Basically anything thats bigger than her or smaller than her shes afraid of. Loading into a trailer is a pain, grooming is a pain, riding is a major pain and vet visits are just horrible. Most of the time she spends on her own in her own paddock so other horses wont frighten her. If you think about it she kinda reminds me of a fainting goat.

She is a good leader and Jewel is widely respected. She is very stubborn for her riders and will buck or rear if she doesn't like what they are doing. The mares never really take her on because they enjoy her kindness. Topanga is very intelligent. She listens and follows directions. Her discipline is dressage, suitable for her rare breed. She is very good with the commands and movements and catches on very quickly. She is very well mannered too. She never gets into trouble. However, she does have an energetic side. She enjoys running around the pasture and doing her "signature" move. She runs through the pasture doing part mini jump part frolic, it's very amusing.
