Random Fun Facts!

Ever since I was little,
I've wanted to visit Japan during the
Cherry Blossom Festival.
I started painting when I was very young.
Sometimes I write stories about my paintings.
I was named after a flower.

I left home when I was a teen.

There I was, painting under a tree, trying to perfect the sun glare. "Uuuggggghhh!" I moaned as I scribbled on my painting.

"Hey, why'd you do that!?"

I jumped as another foxer spoke up behind me. "H-How long have you been standing there?"
You know, she looks kind of like me...

"Long enough to see that your paintings are amazing! How come you scribbled all over it?" She asked thoughtfully.

"Because it's awful. Look at the sun glare."

"I am looking. It's great! It's really pretty!"

"Thanks. I'm trying to perfect the sun glare look. I haven't quite got it down yet. I think I just need to practice a little longer..."

"Well you keep working at it. I'm Tanoshi hato, but you can call me Tano. What's your name?" Tano asked.

"I'm Briar. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, too," Tano said and smiled.
"Hey, let me introduce you to my cousin. Hey, Kalani! Come here! I want you to meet someone!" Tano called as her cousin came over. "Briar, this my cousin Kalani. Kalani, Briar."

"Nice to meet you," I said.
Wow. They look very similar for cousins.


"You too--" She stopped herself and gasped. "Did you paint that?! It's amazing!"

That made me blush. "Thanks," I replied.

"..And I love the way you used the golden yellow as the sun glare," she added.

Wait, is she talking about my scribbles? "You mean my scribbles...?"

"Yeah. If you touch it up a bit..." She walked up to my painting and added some more gold. ".... you've got sun glare!"

"Wow! I've been trying to perfect the sun glare look. Thanks so much, Kalani!"

"Ah, no problem. I just love helping other foxers!"

"You know," Tano spoke up. "Something's been bugging me for a while. Have you noticed that we all look pretty similar?" Tano asked.

"I noticed that too," I said.

"Yeah, me three," said Kalani.

"Maybe we're related? We're defiantly not sisters," Tano said.

"Cousins? Do you have any aunts?" Kalani asked.

"I think my mom might have had two or three sisters. I don't know if they're all alive though.." I said.

"If we are cousins..." Tano said, "Then only one of your aunts is alive..." Tano said with a sad look on her face.

She must have lost her mom.
"I'm sorry Tano. I've lost my parents too," I said with a halfhearted smile on my face.

Tano smiled back.

"Then we must be cousins!" Kalani said after what seemed like a while. "None of my aunts are alive."

"This is so cool! I never knew I had cousins," I said.

After that, we just sat there talking till' sundown -- literally -- getting to know each other.

"Well, I'd better be headed home," I said.

"Us too," Tano said.

"Yeah. I guess we'll see you around?" Kalani said as her and Tano got up to leave.

"Yeah, see ya around. Bye!" I said with a smile as I got up to leave.

"Bye!" They said as they left.

... and that's how I met my cousins, Kalani and Tanoshi hato.

A Foxerfly is a fox-like creature that is rather small. They are about the size of the average house cat. Their very unique feature is the pair of wings on their back that allows them to fly unlike any other four-legged being. There are five different types of wings of a Foxerfly that resemble wings of insects.

Occasionally their wings will be different to others, but it is rare in the average Foxerfly. Their diet consists of everything a normal fox would eat; berries, eggs, small rodents, fruit, and they may chew on various crops. Nayru is one of the bravest foxerflys I've met.
He's even brave enough to fight a grizzly bear, though
we all know he couldn't...He would still try! if you dared
him to do something, he wouldn't back down, he'll do
anything. This song fits him the best when he's like this.

Adventure Seeker
Nayru is always on the hunt for a new adventure
and is always on the move to find whats really behind
that corner. Most of the time he'll be dropped off somewhere,
they he's free to roam the land or sea. He's almost always on a new
adventure everyday. This is his favorite song to play on his flute.

Forgetful/Day-Dreaming
Though Nayru isn't very forgetful, he can be forgetful at times.
Having set up camp for the night, Then he'll go out and look
for fire wood, but then forget to bring the axe, or forget to
pack the bug-spray. This mostly happens when he's day dreaming
As he's trying to do something, then he forgets what he's doing.
This is a song that shows how easily he can get lost in thought.

Curious
Nayru is very and I mean very curious. One time he heard a weird sounding
bird cry, and well being the curious foxerfly he is, he followed that sound into
the forest. For hours he followed that sound, till he had forgotten where he
was and why he went out this far. He did find his way back...after
following this trail of mushrooms that lend to a small waterfall...they
he followed this river to this larger waterfall...and ya, Nayru is very
curious. This song just show how curious he really is.

Short Story
My friend Mouse offered to help me with my form, and she wrote this amazing story.

The early morning sun was just peeking over the horizon.
Nayru ducked under a tree branch as he slowly walked through the dense forest. He had picked up a ton of interesting things on the way, like some interesting bird feathers he found scattered under a tree, and some maple leaves. His sharp eyes spotted something in one of the few bushes at this elevation. Without hesitation, he darted over immediately to see what it was.
"Jackpot!" He cried out to no one in particular. Nayru had found a lot of little flat stones with the remnants of little creatures imprinted on them.
"Wow!" Was all he could say. He studied the imprint on the rock. "A Trilobite.... Wow!" Nayru was so fascinated with the fossil that he didn't realize his foot was losing grip on the loose stones that covered the entire expanse of the mountainside.
"Wooaaaaah!!!!" He yelped as he slipped and then tumbled down the mountain. Everything went by him in a daze. Trees. Plants. Rocks. Wildlife.
When he regained his senses after the fall, he looked around to see he was in a entirely new section of the forest. Light dappled the ground around him. Birdsong filled the air. He could hear the familiar "Cheeseburger" from the chickadees just starting to wake up and crows that were likely fighting over food.
What he didn't expect to hear was a familiar sound.
He quickly checked to see he still had his ocarina, and that no one had swiped it and started playing it.
It was still there. This was someone else. Someone else with their own ocarina. Pretty good at playing by the sound of it, too.
As he tried tracking down the sound, the tune became clearer.
A somewhat high spirited version of Zelda's Lullaby.
He continued onward until the source of the song was from right above him. He looked around. No one.
It never occurred to him to look up until something fell on his head.
"Hey! Can you give that back please? Yes, I'm talking to you!" A somewhat angry female voice spoke.
Nayru looked up to see a girl foxer with white fur and blue swirls hanging upside down on a tree branch.
"I-I-I u--umm....." He began stammering. Something inside him made him feel a little giddy...
Nayru didn't know what to do, or what the emotion inside him was.
He simply ran off. He didn't know where. Just somewhere.
Nayru could of sworn the object she was asking back for was an ocarina.

Hello! I'm Shanoo the lion., but you can just call me 'Shanoo'. That's what everyone calls me anyway. It's pretty much become my name around here. This is the first foxerfly I'm trying out for. I actually decided to compete for a foxer while stalking birch bear (Good luck! If Sistine wins, I'll be just as happy!), who is awesome.. haha.. I don't seem serious about getting this little guy.. Of course I'd love to have him! Anyway.. let's move on..

Name
The Citron (Citrus medica) is a citrus fruit with many great medical properties, which is why it's great for making soap! Umm.. yes.. soap.. Actually, when Citron's mother named him, what she had in mind was the French word for lemon, citron, instead of the English word for the citrus fruit. Citron's mother had recently been to France and had absolutely loved the tarte au citron, so she named her little one after it, occasionally making lemon tart as a treat. Citron doesn't mind if you pronounce it either way, French or English. He quite likes having a name that can have different meanings, depending on a tiny difference in pronunciation. His mother often calls him 'lemon tart', which he does not like. If he was a lemon tart, he would be a cannibal. Cannibalism did not appeal to Citron in any way. Then again, his name is still a food- a citrus fruit, to be more exact. Citron loves citrus fruit but would never eat a citron. They're not even juicy. He does love making citron soap, though.

Citron is clearly a male. Haven't I been referring to him as 'he'? When I first saw this little guy and drew him in my own (admittedly rubbish) style, I knew he had to be a male. Not a very 'manly' or 'tough' one, but a sweet, kind male with a bit of a 'feminine' side. Of course I do not believe in these silly gender stereotypes at all, but I wasn't sure how else to describe it. Of course, he hates being called girly and doesn't believe in these stereotypes either. Good boy, Citron. A believer in equality, just like me!

Hobby
As mentioned before, Citron loves making soap. In fact, it's not only a hobby, it's also his job. He has opened a nice little shop in his nice little hometown dedicated to selling natural hand-made.. err.. paw-made soaps and keeping his customers clean and healthy. Hygiene has always been a primary concern for Citron, but he also makes sure his soaps look and smell good. He mostly makes soaps out of citrus fruits, which are his favourites. He often tests his soaps on himself, so he always smells like oranges, lemons or grapefruits.

Personality

Most people would describe Citron as kind, calm and confident. He's pretty nice and friendly, but don't let his kindness fool you, he's not a doormat at all.

Kind
Citron loves helping others and goes out of his way to make sure that his loved ones are fine. He thinks of others before himself and is pretty selfless. He is friendly and loves to meet new people, treating strangers kindly. He even gives out free citrus soap goody baskets!

Sensible...ish
Citron is pretty mature and will always try to break up a fight, but that doesn't mean he doesn't argue sometimes. He hates it when someone does something wrong and he hates being wrong, so he'll often put up a fight, verbally, of course. He doesn't believe in violence, though he has a bit of a short temper. He does try to restrain himself and be nice, though. He can be silly at times, but always thinks things through thoroughly before talking or acting.

Stubborn
Citron is very opinionated, though he respects other's opinions. He will always defend his opinion and push for what he wants. It can be a bit annoying and Citron does come off as bossy, wanting others to do exactly as he wants, but it also means that he's extremely hard working. He won't let anything stop him from making thousands of soap bars if he really needs to and he's extremely determined.

Trustworthy
Citron always holds up his end of a bargain, no matter what. He'll do anything within his power to help and his promises are always kept. He'll never tell anyone anything you don't want others to know and he's extremely honest, sometimes to a fault. He does try to think things through but can be a little harsh.

Friendly
Citron is a bit awkward, but that doesn't stop him from making friends and talking to others! He loves to socialise and help others out, but he's a bit weird sometimes and has trouble in some social situations.

Intelligent
Citron is very smart but can sometimes lack common sense, not understanding things immediately or being a silly-billy. He often thinks too much and too hard and his answers are often complicated, instead of simple and obvious. He likes to be different, but since he's so awkward sometimes, he often wants to fit in as well.

want him to do something or make something, he's

If Nic decides on one thing, or believes in one thing, he
doesn't sway his opinion. Some might call him stubborn or
silly, but Nic keeps to his ideas and thoughts out of a feeling
that if he didn't stick to it, it wouldn't be worth thinking
about. When he's into something, a book or a show, he
won't stop babbling about it, and lots of the time he'll
get on other foxer's nerves because of it.

forgiving
If somebody is mean to Nic, or hurt him or betray him, all
they have to do is say sorry and he'll instantly bounce back
to being friends or happy acquaintances again. It's hard for
other foxers to make him angry at them for long or to get
him to hold a grudge for long. It can be little bit of a double
edged personality streak, though, because on one hand
it's easier to be friendly with him when he'll forgive
your short-comings, but it also means that he'll
forget about betrayals and such and won't expect
them from others.

constant daydreamer
Nic has a bad habit of completely spacing out and ignoring
the entire world for hours on end while he muses about
different types of trees, rocks or how the world was formed.
He'll just sit there and stare into space with this sort of
dreamy, out of focus look on his face. It gives some foxers
the creeps just to watch him.

Nic is always ready to take anyone under his wing, and when
he does, he's always sweet and comforting almost all the time,

Dominic always handles everything and everyone he
touches with care. He hates breaking anything, or hurting
other foxers feelings. It makes him a good companion and
a skillful carver. He can make the littlest lines in a chunk
of wood, and paint in the tiniest cracks.

Sometimes, Nic will get very distant and thoughtful.
It's not his permanent attitude, but it does come
over him now and than. When it does, he go very
quiet and sound like he's talking from far away,
which is because he's thinking about something
really important to him.

It is extremely, seriously easy to make Dominic happy.
He's not fond of big, fancy expensive-type things and

Nic would rather have a small, friendly, cheerful home
to a big rambling old mansion, and a lot of foxerflies
get a little confused when he refuses to take a big,
fluffy bed over the floor, or when he'd rather eat
some fish with peas to a lovely, well laid-out din-
ner.

Dominic confuses some foxers mightily, and it's really
very hard to understand him completely. He's gentle, caring,
loving and forgiving, but he's also distant, aloof and eager
to please. He's a true puzzle, and almost no one understands
him all the way.
