Strawberry Pancakes.
Every Canada day for as long as Maple can remember
her mother has made pancakes with strawberries in them.
The berries make the pancakes a pleasant red color
and give them a very sweet taste.
Maple has always put maple syrup on them,
and she can't imagine Canada day without these pancakes.
They are just as important to her
as the fireworks or ceremonies are to others.
