username:
Rhea!
name:
This guy's name is Celsius. Muahaha, the opposite of Fahrenheit! I felt like bein' a rebel today.
gender:
He is a male. Maybe not the manliest man, but he sure isn't girly.
eye color?
Celsius has one silver eye. It has an odd and shiny grayish tint to it. His other eye, the one currently with the scar over it, used to be a pale powder blue color, much less shiny than his silver eye.
story:
I bet you're wondering a few questions about Celsius here. Why does he have that scar over his eye? Why is his tail on fire? What's up with that star's scar? Well luckily for you, all of those questions can be answered in one story. I'll be telling that story to you right now, so take a seat, get some popcorn, and start reading!
Long ago, but not so long ago, Celsius knew a large forest that went by the name of Fog Creek Woods. He loved it very much, and even though he didn't live there, he spend more time there than he did at his actual home. All of the animals there were friends of his; the deer, the squirrels, the birds, the wolves, the owls... They were all good friends of his, and he loved them like family.
However, the humans ruined all of that. Silly creatures, they are, always being reckless and destroying things that don't even belong to them. Forest fires, as you'll soon see, cause the most devastation out of all of the horrible mistakes humans frequently make. One of these very fires ruined Celsius' life as he knew it, and he has developed a strong grudge against the two-legged creatures since they burned down his woods.
It happened a few years ago in Celsius' life. He was loitering in the forest, wandering here and there and greeting his animal friends, absolutely overjoyed at being there. But that was normal. He had been there for about an hour or two, and everything had been perfectly normal and peaceful, until a herd of deer raced by, looking rather flustered and terrified. They had screamed something in a very frantic tone as they ran, but they had gone so fast that he hadn't been able to hear it. Even odder, all of the other animals around Celsius had turned and began to run as well.
Celsius stared for a moment in confusion, not sure what was happening. Wanting to make sure all of his animal friends were safe in their woods, he decided to go towards where they ran from to see what was scaring them so. As he went along, he stared around him in all directions, but... He saw nothing. The woods was completely empty aside from all of the trees that towered over him, their long, sharp branches looking like long arms as they waved slowly around in the light summer breeze.
After a bit of walking, Celsius realized with a jolt that it was beginning to grow hot... With a sickening feeling, he realized that he hadn't been looking forward, only around, and as he turned his head to adjust his gaze ahead of him, he saw a bright red-orange glow. That could only mean one thing. 'Forest fire!' was the only thing the poor creature could think as he turned and bolted away. Fires were incredibly fast, he knew, but he thought 'Maybe I can out-run it!'
As he ran, a silly clumsy mistake, he tripped over a tree root that was poking out from the soil of the floor. His paw caught on it and he was slammed into the ground with a painful thump. As he felt the heat begin to grow, he managed to wiggle his paw out of the tree root. He shook off his pelt and hopped over the root to continue his attempt to flee from the deadly forest fire.
It was catching up fast, and the young First Star was well aware of it. He was getting tired, too, and wasn't sure how much longer he'd be able to continue running. He could feel the heat of the raging forest fire gaining up on him. 'I can't make it!' he began to think as he felt his legs grow shaky and the temperature grow hotter.
Up ahead, he heard a loud crreeeeak sound and stopped dead in his tracks. Celsius knew exactly what that sickening sound was; the cracking of a tree trunk. And what happens after a tree's trunk breaks? Gravity takes care of the rest. Panicked, Clesius stared around and searched for the tree destined to fall until he noticed about a split second later that it was just to his left.
With a loud yelp, he froze in place like a terrified deer in a road as he saw the tree towering over him and coming down fast. He reacted too late, however, and the tree slammed down right on top of him. Celsius fell to the ground and blacked out as he felt the tree slam heavily onto his frail body.
After who knows how long, Celsius eventually woke up. The tree was still on top of him, but the majority of the trunk had been burned to ashes in the fire while he had been unconscious, so it was somewhat of an ease to push off. Body aching, the First Star managed to stand and shake the ashes and bits of burnt things out of his fur. The looks of the woods around him brought tears to his eyes- or more so, his eye. His favorite place, more of a home than anything else had ever been to him, was now destroyed: nothing more than a burnt crisp left to rot into the ground.
Celsius felt a warm trickle down his left cheek, and he placed a paw against it to wipe whatever it was away. He glanced at his paw and his heart skipped a beat as he saw the bright crimson color of blood. It is very unnerving to see one's blood all over your paw, and this particular character will never forget that sickening feeling of seeing his. 'W-what happened?' he thought as he stared at his shaky paw. 'Is that from my eye?'
Frantically, the young First Star began to wave his head around and try to search for some signs of life. In the process, he spotted something... Odd about the star located in his shoulder. It was a light glimpse of some dark reddish color, but he had no idea what it was until he examined it closer. Craning his painful neck over a bit more, Crimson saw a long, bloody-looking scar down one of the star's eye, mimicking the cut he got along his own. He didn't even know such a thing was possible.
With a deep, heavy sigh, he sat down, crunching dead plants under his weight. To this day he has no clue how long he sat there until his attention was dragged back to reality by the sound of crackling... A fire crackling, and the feel of heat along his rump. Leaping to his feet suddenly, Celsius stared around frantically for the source of the sound and feel. He guessed it was behind him, so turned there first, but... There wasn't a thing anywhere to be seen. The feel of heat on his rump fur could still be felt, and the faint crackling could still be heard, but the location was unknown.
'Where on Earth is that coming from?' the little catlike creature thought as he stared around. He gazed over his shoulder, and then saw it. Leaping back with a yelp of fear, he wasn't sure how he'd failed to notice the ball of fire at the end of his tail until now. He pawed and batted at it with his paws, but nothing happened. His paws weren't burned, the fire didn't go out, it didn't even really waver at the battering it took. He calmed down after he realized it wasn't going out. It was all very odd, and the silent First Star had no clue what was going on.
He sat. He thought. He pondered. He wondered. He came up with nothing. There seemed to be no knowing what was going on with him at the moment, so he decided just to give up. 'No use just sitting here,' Celsius thought as he rose to his paws. 'I should find a lake or someplace to clean this nasty cut I've got.' Gently putting a paw over his cut eye, he then set it down and exited the charred remains of Fog Creek Woods, and headed for a lake nearby. As he went, questions flooded his mind. 'What should I do? Will others dislike me? Will they like me more? What's up with my tail? Can I put it out?' What seemed like hundreds of questions like these flooded into his brain as he arrived at the banks to wash off his face. And as he splashed the cool, refreshing water over his eyes and muzzle, absolutely none of them were answered. He was simply left to ponder the answers, never to be deemed a 'normal' First Star ever again.
The end~
Extras
personality:
Celsius is a quiet guy. He prefers to let his actions speak louder than words, so to say. He can be rather blunt, and tends to be slightly snappish at those rare moment when he actually does speak, but he has no bad intent when he snaps at others. That's just how he's used to acting. He isn't very patient, and doesn't take insults very well, usually getting rather irritated or upset at whoever said the insult, even if it's only a little joke. He's a bit sensitive about his scarred eye, and doesn't like to talk about it that much, usually creating an excuse or changing the subject to get away from talking about it. He lives in solitude, not really liking the company of others. He's been laughed at and scowled at for his weird features so many times that he's just decided to give up on trying to make friends. Though it basically ruined his life, Celsius has grown to have a certain interest in fire that he's achieved after long times messing around with his tail-flames.
