Why did you tell me that I wasn't alone,
when you left me all of those years?
Why didn't you feed me? I could've passed as a bone.
But not to you.
Why did you lock me in and turn off the light,
so the screams I screamed nobody could hear?
You always feared that one day the people should come,
and that one day they did,
you beat me
you hit me
you nearly killed me
you changed me.
Now I'm not alone,
Now I'm not just skin and bone,
and now they can hear me,
and I sing with the freedom bells,
and they call me Freedom.
And the eyes of Freedom are green,
but Freedom still sees you as red.
