The Winged Silken Shepherd (WSS) is a fairly new breed of drover (herding dog) developed in the rolling hills of Waltson, where the main source of hide, leather, and meat is the Waltson Sheep, a fairly intelligent animal that was difficult to herd or pen until these small, quick dogs were introduced. WSS are named for their wing-like ears, and their odd habit of "flapping" their ears. As they were bred primarilly for being intelligent, long winded, and loyal- very little attention was payed to color. After many breeds were mixed in (including border collie, sheltie, corgi, and others) a wide variety of colors and markings are possible (though not all are accepted).
