From the moment he was born, Ajali has always been a very curious and vocal bean. He loves to talk and sing, loud, proud, and out of tune. If someone gives him the chance he'll keep up a conversation until he falls asleep no matter what the topic is. Some creatures find this an intriguing trait and are happy to oblige him for a few hours, but many others just can't wait to get out of earshot. Ajali can't really tell the difference so he finds the strange reasons people give him as they run away very interesting. Unfortunately for those poor souls, if Ajali sees them again they're surely in for a happy interrogation about the nature of their "exploding stove", if they found their "super mega important lost tiny rock", what happened to the "ten foot tall pickle terrorizing the city", or how the "boring job interview that I'm late for" went.

Sometimes Ajali likes to be alone, but he really thrives at the heart of his jam, or any group for that matter! He’s a very social bean who needs to be around others. If he’s stuck alone, he swears he'll wilt away to nothing within the hour. (Even though it hasn't happened yet...yet.) He loves meeting new creatures and doesn't have any problems around strangers. In fact, they might even make him more outgoing, since he can't make new friends without finding strangers to talk to!

Whether he’s telling his life story to a rock, chowing down, attempting to run up straight trees, or doing something 'important' like chores, Ajali's always got a goofy grin plastered across his face and he truly could not be any happier. He loves life and every experience he gets, even the lame ones! When he’s not doing something, he’s sprawled out somewhere snoring just as loudly as he talks. His favorite places to nap are usually weird and look really uncomfortable, or even painful! Not many believe him, but he swears up and down that laying on a pile of sharp rocks really does make you sleep better than you ever have before.

'Playful' and 'creative' might as well be his middle names. Although he's always be happy, there’s a special sort of joy in his eyes when he’s playing with younger kids. (He doesn't mind playing with beans his own age, but usually they sure do!) His favorite game is tag but he also has fun playing bus. He stuffs his pouch full of little ones and carries them to interesting places they can't get to on their own. Sometimes he takes the little ones out too far and gets in trouble, but he never means to, honest! He just had to show them that really cool rock or that awesome waterfall or the view from that tree. Not everyone appreciates his games, but they all know his heart is in the right place.

Even when he can't play with others, Ajali makes his own fun! He has a small hoard of trinkets, mostly composed of rocks, feathers, branches, broken flip flops, discarded teddy bears, abandoned dolls, ruined jewelry and half-eaten chew toys. Ajali's hoard means a lot to him and even though some of his treasures are falling apart, they never fail to amuse him. Sometimes the poor boy is dragged far away from his precious collection without a single toy. When this happens he usually tries to find new trinkets, but his plans are sometimes thwarted, leaving him bored and miserable. Until he spots a flicking tail, of course! No matter the time or place, Ajali can’t resist batting at - or pouncing on! - an unsuspecting tail.

Ajali may have a lot of energy, but it sure doesn't last long! After a few short games he’s absolutely exhausted and needs to nap for a few hours. Communal nap piles are his favorite after a round of play, but sometimes he has to sneak off to one of his weird nap spots. When he isn't playing or napping, he’s quite the lazy bean. He'll roll short distances instead of walking and spend hours thinking of how to do a task with slightly less effort. He always finishes his chores, but it takes him all day and night.
