What Is Serenity Shelter?
Serenity is a dog rescue. We rescue dogs of all kinds and rehabilitate them to be able to be adopted. Not all dogs have a nice past, such as just being given up to the shelter because their owners couldn't afford to care for them. Some are abandoned. Some were left for dead. But each one is special, and each one is full of love and ready to share it. We give the dogs the best care we can provide, but nothing beats a home that they can call their own. So are you ready to adopt?

Gah, the first dog in awhile. This time, it's a saluki. :3

-This girl was found in a kill shelter. While the details were blurry, we were able to discover she was passed from home to home, and back to the shelter again several times. She was about to be euthanized when we found her and we quickly rescued her. This pretty girl is sweet and in need of a loving home where she can stay forever.

hello there, i'm echo;;. it's a name i've had for awhile now and i don't plan on changing it anytime soon. i'm an artist for CWHR and i enjoy being one. this beautiful girl had caught my eye and i thought, well i might as well try-out, even if i probably don't stand a chance. i had felt some kind of connection with her when i first saw her. she seemed worthy of at least trying to win her. honestly, she may be one of the only dogs i'd try out for at serenity shelter, because of the connection i felt with her. my plans to do with her, would probably make her a part of CWHR and maybe use her for stories, art, etc. i'd be honored to be the new owner of her. to me she feels like a blessing and i'd love to keep her.


Allouette is a female saluki dog. She is about 6-7 years old, weighs approximately 53-54 pounds and is about 25-26 inches tall. Her head is long and narrow with large eyes and drop ears. She is deep-chested, has long legs and her tail is long and curled at the end. Allouette has a try colored coat that is black, white and tan. She has a pleasant personality that makes everyone adore her. Some of these traits are calm, sweet, loving, tranquil, mellow, genial, motherly, gentle, and timid.

There are many things that Allouette likes but some of her favorite things are running, racing, pleasing her owner and getting attention. Since everyone has things that they dislike to some degree, some of Allouette's dislikes are fire, being alone for too long, smoke, and occasionally swimming. In her spare time you'll often find Allouette doing one of these things hanging out at CWHR, going to hospitals, womans shelters, etc., sometimes racing and occasionally appearing in dog shows.

Name Meaning: Jamilah is Arabic for beautiful. I thought this name suited her because she seems shy and beautiful. I also chose Jamilah because it is in Arabic, and the saluki is originally from areas in the Middle East where people speak different dialects of Arabic, however, Jamilah means the same thing in most Arabic dialects.

Personality: Jamilah is rather reserved and holds back most of the time. In her past, she has learnt that not everyone has good intentions. She has learnt that some people would choose harming over caring. She is extremely cautious and rarely ever opens up. She used to be a happy, carefree dog before her trust was broken time after time, leaving her in without a home, leaving her put away in shelters. It takes a very, very long for Jamilah to approach someone, and even longer for her to give them her trust. As a result, she is sometimes left out of things and doesn't have as many friends as she used to, as she is quiet and reserved, her walls always up. Once she takes a step out of her comfort zone and opens up fully to someone, she becomes the joyful and carefree dog she once was, and her walls go down, at least for a little while.
