I watch as the leaf drifts,
slowly it tumbles toward the ground.
As I sit, wondering if I will ever
have the same fate.
If I would ever take root, take a chance
instead of constantly being my own.
To be as untamed
and wild as the wind.
To sway and change
only at the slightest of breezes.
To be able to alter my course,
without a moment's hesitation.
Gently trusting and believing
that thought my path unclear,
I will always be somewhere.
As soon as I learn
to flow in the breeze.
I'll be free.
