What Is A Light Collector?

Light Collectors, or LCs for short, are small loveable furry creatures.
They survive by feeding off of light sources, such as car lights, city
signs, flashlights and such forms of light. The more light that a LC
eats, or ''collects'', the larger the LC gets. A LC's horns and tail act
like their stomachs, so when a LC is full, their tails/horns glow brighter
than if they are hungry. Another quite outstanding fact is that Light
Collectors can move fast... Very fast. LCs can move so fast that the
human eye can barely see them, and they appear as just a flash of
light. A LCs pelt can consist of a wide variety of colors, though darker
furred ones are more common than brightly furred ones. The color of
the horns and tail of a single LC are chosen based on the gender of the
OC. Female LCs usually are found with these colors: Red, pink, orange,
purple, and yellows. Male LCs are found with these colors: Red, green,
blue, yellow, orange, brown. When a LC is a baby, their horns and tails
shine white, and gain color as they mature into an adult. The smallest LC
can be around the size of a small bunny or cat, while the biggest can be
the size of a large cat or smaller medium sized dogs.

He is very bright, and smart.He watches 'Death Note' and his role model is Light Yagami. He changed his name, whatever personality, and even tried to become smart to become like him.

Despite brave appearance, he is actually afraid of females. They just creep him out. Gynophobia is his major phobia.

Something that might not seem apparent is that he dislikes reading. While a genius might like or enjoy reading, Light does not take reading too fondly.

Light also can be caught with a bunch of scarves; he loves scarves, and may even be considered a hoarder of them. His favorite is a dark purple scarf, which he wears very often.

Like the anime/manga, he carries around a journal written 'Death Note' on it. He's never actually written in it, but...

He also wears glasses, and a scarf. He does not need the glasses but thinks they help him see more clarity in life.

He also wears a feather on his tail in rememberance of his old name, and what his goal in life is now.

Short Story about Name/Short History

Before Light was called Light, he was adressed by a different name.

A name is what describes a person. It is said the eyes and name show the soul. A name is one of the most important features of anyone; animal or strange creatures alike. You connect a face to a name, or a name to a feature. You connect a color to a name, and you connect a place to a name.

His name was one of those names that did mot match his face. It did not connect with his personality. Therefore, for him it did not work. It made him sad, and he was teased as a young LC.

His name was Kestrel; after the bird.

However, Kestrel was not at all like a bird. He was intelligent, understanding, and did not run away from situations. In fact, despite how quiet he was, there was an unmatched seeking for pleasing. Other LC's did not see him as someone to run away. If he had any social interactions, they were awkward and forgiven if something wrong had been done. He was genius, but could not find his voice. He was constantly trying to please, but he was trying to find his passion, his left desire, his job. And he could not. And it may have even slightly haunted him.

Plus, he had another problem with his desire to please.
Birds do not please. They were, in his opinion, one of the most wretched, distorted of creatures. They constantly ran away from things, and if something was wrong or seemed different, like if their children had a different scent, they would take flight and leave.
And he did not want to be connected with that.

After finding a home, Kestrel had found a show on TV. The main character: smart, justifying, and eloquent. Kestrel had really found nothing to do. He sat doing nothing mainly all day; after finding the main character's cause to be worthwhile, he changed his name to Light Yagami, and while he tries to get over his single fear, he also tries to justify how there should only be good in this world.

Relations with his companion
Light prefers solitude, but like all Light Collectors, he needs to socialize. His companion, Xerian, is always there by his side.
While Light is smaller than Xerian by a long shot, with Xerian being 9 feet long, Light confides in Xerian, even more than his fellow species.
While he does live with a collector, and tends to spend time with her, Light loves running around with Xerian, sometimes crawling up on his pal's back and taking a snooze.

Why I would Love to be his owner
First off, I'd just like to say despite my lack of coding through BBC, I hope you like the form.

I would love for him to be my baby; I already ordered four pieces of art of him, and while I don't have them today [no one was able to get it done in such a short time :<] I tried to show how much I would love him through writing and description.

I would love to fully develop his personality and let him go on vast adventures, and try to let his good-for-the-whole-earth deposition reach through other LC's. I love each and every one of my characters, and can name all 63; if Light were to be added to my family, I would just be over joyed. Light would be roleplayed, made art of, and would be throughly loved. His design is remarkable and I absolutely would love to have this guy accompany me on journeys of my own. ono

The darkest secret...
Despite how happy and on-going he is about his passion for world peace, there is one thing that constantly haunts him...

His depression.
No one except Xerian, I, and now of course you know about this; true clinical depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life. Light's is extremely harsh but short, often leaving him unable to move or throwing severe fits of anger. They last for two or three days; the longest he has had was for a week. There are different triggers for people, and Light's trigger is that whenever he sees really bad deeds going on. This makes him go into a short depression before going back to his regular routine.
During this time he sees himself as a monster, and Light also hopes one day when the world peace has come, his depression will stop and everyone will be truly happy, including himself.

It's the symbol of a bird, and birds are free.. and why ask? I have the right to express myself, don't I? Like how people wear hats? Why don't you ask them!

Tha- that's absurd! Of course not.. just.. no.. *mumbles*

What do you do with your friends?
Talk about pranks we should do, or the newest songs, etc. We go collect light and party.. Not like its any of your business.

What do you have against scarves?
I mean, who likes them? No one wears them! If you neck is soo cold, wear a turtle neck! A neck warmer- but they call it a scarf! It's ridiculous!!

Sun glasses occasionally. Sometimes a tie- but not for anything special, of course.. heh.. Just ask the next question.

What is your favorite thing to eat as a LC?
Multicolored lights; like the ones at concerts or a rollerskating rink. Ya know, those lights are wherever the fun is, so I go to the fun.

Hoards;;
Darren absolutely loves to hoard soft plushies and smooth stones, but he also hoards feathers. The feather hoard might explain why he wears a feather on his tail.

Music- Darren loves the sound of music, and often loves fast paced music.
Fire- He has always liked being near fires, as they provide warmth. Darren likes roasting foods over fires also, just another reason to like them.
