THE LOST RIDERS - #24

Postby Penultima » Sun Oct 27, 2013 8:07 am

Unlike many adoptables, this species isn't a "quick adopt, get a whole bunch" kind. Each one is unique and special. Each has it's own story, history, and future. You, as a potential owner, will not only adopt it, but actually own it.

You can try out for multiple dinos, but you cannot own more that 1 untrained one at once.
Keep in mind--Tribesman and women wear armor or leather garments, not casual clothes like hoodies or jeans.
They also do not have very modern-like objects, like glasses, hats, swords, etc

This poor Bernikesaur! He's blind, and also looks quite skinney! Maybe he isn't getting enough to eat, or perhaps his body is just built that way....

Is this the one for you? Are you up for his capture?

Dino's name: Bludhund, "blood-hund"

Named for the Bernikesaur's hunting strategy that Tamerlane observed: sniffing out prey rather than stalking it. The Bernikesaur also seems to have an amazing sense of hearing. Tamerlane concludes that it has much to do with one sense sharpening due to another sense being dampened. Bludhund has been seen traveling both above and underground, so the dinosaur must constantly be searching for food.
Your Rider's Name: Tamerlane D'Orgio
Training to be a negotiator, Tamerlane is of an average height but not of average skill - his knack for problem-solving as well as a love of being active outdoors made him a perfect recruit. He has dark brown hair, nearly black, and ice-blue eyes that are striking against his sun-tanned skin.
It may seem odd for the Mat'huen tribe to have studies based on interaction with the other tribes, but Tamerlane also focuses on a darker side of negotiation...ending it on your terms. The caves and surrounding abandoned upper-lands along the edges of the Mat'onit region are perfect for practicing the subtle art of sliding your knife into someone's ribs. Well...stalk-and-surprise games...for now...
He's intrigued by this blind Bernikesaur because the idea that a creature with a possibly-debilitating defect still manages to be absolutely terrifying, especially in places where sight doesn't matter, meshes with his inner goal to become an assassin.

Your Rider's Tribe: Mat'huen
Do you plan to train this dinosaur?: I have so many ideas on how to train a blind dinosaur... :)

.:{Dino's name}:.
Ahiga
Looking at the dino in the distance, I can already tell he has a fighting spirit. To be blind, yet live this long, and seemingly thrive, one would have to be very strong. Looking at him, I know his name: Ahiga, or "he fights."

.:{Your Rider's Name}:.
Fei
On first sight, Fei is the average girl, not too tall, not to short, not very pretty, but not plain. With wispy brown hair and dark brown eyes, her looks are again, average. However, Fei is very different in one way: she is deaf. She has learned to get by, using sign language to communicate, and can read lips fairly well. However, she is very shy and keeps to herself, because almost no one in her tribe believes in her, not even her own family. They have no hopes for her as a rider, because they don't believe she would be able to control her dino. Fei is very strong willed and stubborn though, and though she can't hear these whispers and taunts, she can see it in their faces, and she is determined to prove them wrong. She wishes more then anything to be more then the liability in the village, and she is ready to prove her worth.

.:{Your Rider's Tribe}:.
Fei hails from the Mat'iri. Always the optimist, she consuls herself that she was not born into the more militant Mat'junea and Mat'onit, for she doesn't think she could hold her own there as she does in the Mat'iri.

How do you plan to train this dino?
I plan to write stories with Ahiga's training. My computer doesn't support any digital art programs, and I am just mediocre with drawing, and I do love to write. I would love to devolop both Fei's and Ahiga's personality's as I write, and I would love to see them both go through the training. I have so many ideas...

.:{First Impressions}:.
I look at the dino uncertainly. For all my bravado in the village, even I am unsure of myself. Can I really do this? No one else believes I can. No. I tell myself firmly, You can do this! Now go up to the dino and see what you're dealing with!
I take a few steps towards the dino, and I can tell this one is different. Stopping a short distance away, I scan it closely. Using my eyes to assess any situation I've walked into is one of the few things that has kept me alive. I watch the dino's movements and notice that it doesn't mind the small twigs snapping under its foot, and even as the herd of deer rushes around it, fleeing, its nose is pointed towards the one deer it is chasing. Not any others. Something is very different about this one. I move closer, and watch the dino run towards the deer, turning its head this way and that, and constantly sniffing the air. I watch it take the deer down, and look closer to see what I am missing. Then the dino turns its head towards me and I see what makes him so different, so special. I catch my breath, looking at this dino, who is almost like me... His milky eyes swing towards me and I am elated. Then his teeth show and I presume he snarls at me. Looking down, I see a snapped twig under my foot. I assume he can hear perhaps even better then a normal dino because he must rely on his ears rather then his eyes. Just like me... I use my eyes instead of my ears... Together, it would be almost as if we would make one whole rider. I let out a laugh I cannot hear, and then I feel the shadow of the dino fall over me, and looking up, I see the gleam of the sunlight against his teeth. Right... To live this long, he would have to be very cautious... And I am a threat.Dropping my head, I flee, but I know I will return. I have to find him again!

Your Rider's Tribe:

How do you plan to train this dino?:
    Angelo;
"Well duh, I'll just get in there and train him! What's so hard about training a dino anyway?"
    --
I plan on using short comics.
I also wish to add some filler in between, to show how they grow.
First Impression are everything:
    Thud-thud thud-thud
The young man's heart race, there was a Bernikesaur, right in front of him... Smirking, he mutter under his breath, "Who's winning the bet now?"
    --
Angelo's eyebrows sunk to his eyes, sure he looked cool but... he was blind?! Shoving his hands under his arms, he stared at the poor excuse of a dino, of course he had to pick a puny one.
"Hey Angelo, heard about your catch. You always this talented? Or do the weaklings just love you?"
Laughing, the other turned, beginning his walk back. Growling, Angelo stumped his foot.
"HE'S NOT WEAK! We're going to be the best, you hear that?!"
