Story: WIP!
The truth- that was what everyone always wanted. Aodhan, or Moth, or whoever he was now, ducked his head, for once avoiding the eyes he had sought for so many years, longed for when there was no hope of seeing their light. He could tell she was hurting for him, this new, scared animal of what he had once been, so long ago. He wanted to tell how much he had missed her, how he had imagined this day over and over again, and about what had happened, but story was too big, too much a part of him to let go. It struggled to remain buried inside. Taking a breath, his sides heaved and he tried again, focusing on the strange, unfamiliar feeling of seeing her again, her patient smile.

He nodded, agreeing to her request. She desired to hear his side of the events. "It was the year of the storm. You remember- of course you do, why am I saying that? Well, the snow was coming down, and, and everywhere, there was nothing but snow. No mountains, no trees, nothing but whiteness, and I couldn't see or breathe it was just everywhere. Actually, I should start over. The story really begins before that.

The day before we left the herd, I was excited and happy. There you were, beautiful and mine and I was going to spend a month, with only you, and it was going to be beautiful and so many possibilities sat within our grasp. It was probably one of my favorite days, that one, when the sun shown through the winter sky and I would've been cold if not for your warmth. Anyway, the next day we left- a tearful goodbye, especially from your mother, but I guess that's what to expect. To be honest, I was imagining a tearful goodbye with our own foal and their mate someday, and so I wouldn't have minded anything, at that point.

And then we set off, and it was still one of those clear and sparkly kind of winter days, where the sun looks so close you can touch it, but even if you did, if wouldn't matter because it's still freezing. And how your breath made little clouds, and we walked and chatted and exclaimed about all the things we saw. And then we trotted, and of course that led to galloping, and before we knew it our parents we out of sight, and couldn't be more out of mind.

That night, though, I think that's when things started to get bad. We slept under the stars, and with you pressed up against me, I was warm inside, although I could feel cold start to seep through my coat. I guess we were a little too eager to get on with our travels, and we should have waited until Spring instead of setting off during Winter. Ah, well, we learned that lesson. " Here he paused, eyes full of pain, remembering what came after. And Cricket knew exactly what he was feeling, but said nothing, only pressed her head to his, willing him to continue. Sighing, he did.

"Then, the next day-this was where I had started before- the storm began. And it snowed all day, and looked as if it would never stop. We agreed to keep going, because what good is an adventure with your mate, if you give on the first sign things don't go well? That was our second mistake. We should've turned back. We were pretty far up into the mountains, then, and it started snowing so hard, and at one point, I just realized, you weren't behind me, like you had been. And I whirled around and screamed your name and no one heard me but those stupid mountain birds, and I just-I just- you were so young, well we both were, but you were so delicate, I was so afraid. And I spent all that day looking for you, calling until my voice didn't work anymore and trying to see where you were in all that white blindness. But you weren't anywhere. That night I spent there was the hardest one in my life, without you, and without hope."

He wrapped his tail around hers for support, something she had missed deeply, all those years, and she said "You don't have to go on," but he said "I do," and so he did.

"I spent ten days up there, looking for you. Hoping, each morning, that I would see you face or hear your whinny, and know you were still alive. And by every nightfall, I was convinced the mountains had taken you to their icey deaths, and you were so far away that no one could bring you back. On the tenth day, I knew you were gone. Something in me just snapped, and I told myself 'Stop with the naive hope. She's gone.'

So I finished the journey. It was the second hardest thing I ever did in my entire life, besides lose you, and then leave. But I finished it, and when I reached another herd, I realized I couldn't be the same as I was before. I wasn't the same. So I changed my name, and I chose Moth, because... I can hardly remember now. I think because of-yes, it was because I used to call you 'my little moth,' didn't I? Well, that's what I chose. I knew I could never go back and face our parents, and even if I was brave enough, the reminder of all that I'd lost would have been too great. So I started a new life. It was horrible."

And now he was crying, and Cricket was crying too, so they cried together for a little while, until she said, "But now, I'm back. Let's start where we left off." So they did.

Name: Raja (rah-ha)
Gender: Stallion
Age: Two years
Height: 13.2 hh
Story: 'Raja is a handsome and confident leader who exudes natural authority, although he is still somewhat standoffish. While the other Equids tend to look up to him, his competitive nature and closely held temper will get in the way at times. He is the most officious and rule-abiding Equid I've met and the least likely to fool around.' Thought Dulce after Raja had escorted her home. "Who are you?!" Cunoja asked angrily when he saw Raja in his territory next to Dulce. "Just escorting this young mare home, sir." Raja said politely. Cunoja snorted and stamped the ground. "Thank you, now go home." As Raja turned to leave, Dulce stepped in front of him. "Wait. Let me explain what happened..."

I literally froze when I saw this boy. As in, my breath caught in my throat. He's utterly stunning.

Username: Zvarjaciely
Name: Temporal- as in, time, or the Tower of Time.
Gender: Stallion
Age: 4 years 10 months
Height: 13.2 hh
Story: {The other equid in this story is Jarek, used with express permission from SpartanAmethyst.}

The sun's light was blocked as layer after layer of thick, puffy gray clouds drifted over its warm surface, but a few golden beams spliced through the cover, and one bright, thin beam in particular singled out the gold-lined white marking on one eager stallion's chest. With yellow eyes reflecting the sunbeam's exact shade back into the sky, Temporal studied the huge mass of clouds growing darker and darker, and drifting towards him. He stomped his hoof impatiently, wondering where the other equid was. They were supposed to meet here quite a while ago, and Temporal snorted loudly, not wanting to wait around for the storm to come in. The river would soon swell in the rush of rainwater, with a possible chance of flooding, and he did not want to be around when that happened, even though the meeting place he had chosen was strategically ideal. Finally, a pale creamy shape appeared from the forest, rapidly coming closer until it was plain to see the dun-and-white striped equid, streaking towards him with massive terrified eyes.

"Jarek!" Temporal snorted, in a rather scolding tone. "Where have you been? I've been here forever!" But the other equid only bowed his head slightly, not ashamed or repentant in the least. Rather, he looked quite frightened. "I'm sorry I'm late, friend!" he yelped, crashing into Temporal's shoulder. With a shrill neigh, he nipped the dun stallion back, and grumbled, "Don't call me that. We're collaborators, not friends." But Jarek seemed to totally ignore him. As the two stallions huddled closer, murmuring under their breath, a large red fox crept out of the forest, snarling and baring its sharp yellowed teeth. Obviously, it was what had scared Jarek, although it was more likely than not that Jarek had instigated whatever happened to make the fox chase him.

Luckily, Temporal looked up from their personal and rather muffled conversation, feeling his brown-and-white fur prickling up along his spine with the brewing electricity in the air. A flash of scarlet brought his amber gaze to rest uneasily on the fox's bobbing pelt. Hissing through his teeth, he whickered apprehensively to Jarek. "We have a visitor!" Jarek's head snapped up, the equid's x eyes opening wide and the feathery wisps of his tail fluttering over the ground wildly. Evidently, this had been what scared the tough guy, which didn't surprise Temporal in the least- he was quite a bit frightened himself, mainly because the fox was so huge. Unsure of what to do, he swayed on his feet, remaining passively indecisive until the fox was too close for comfort; at this point Jarek tore away frantically, snorting and tossing his head up and down as the storm broke over their heads. The resulting eruption of lightning and near-deafening cracks of thunder soon became too much for Temporal to handle as well, and the sun on his chest was deeply shadowed, his yellow-golden eyes dosed with terror as he streaked after Jarek through the blur of rain.

I lay in my bed awake, in my bed awake at night
As I dream of you
I'll fall in love, you'll fall in love
It could mean everything, everything to me

Other WME:Scylla (owned by: Modest

"Hey Scylla,"

Scylla jumped and faced the voice that scared her so. "Gwein!" She said hiccuping.

"Aww, did I scare you?" Gwein said knowing Scylla had a tedincy to hiccup when she got scared.

"No!" She said frustrated that she was still hiccuping.

"Yes," he replied stepping closer to her with a smile.

"What do you want, Gwein." She said a little annoyed as her hiccups finally subsided.

"What makes you think I want something? Can't I just come a see my friend." Gwein said smiling.

Scylla thought for a moment then sighed. "I guess so, But I have the strongest feeling there's more to it." She said giving him a look and then a small smile spread across her face.

Gwein's face brightened. "Would you like to come with me to the lake?" He asked, his ears shoved forward.

"I'd like to stay right here, thank you." She said as she bent down and began to graze.

"Oh, ok..." Gwein said, his ears slightly lowering. He looked side to side for a moment befor asking, "may I join you?"

Scylla looked at him, still grazing and nodded. Gwein bent his head down and grazed beside her, his ail swished from side to side. He stood there patiently, looking up at Scylla every few moments. He began to move a lot more as his patience wore thin. His head finally shot up and he looked t Scylla, she looked at his surprised and confused.
"Scylla," Gwein started, his ears lowering then shooting forward again. "Would you go on a date with me?" He asked, his tail wrapping around his back leg, as he hoped for a yes.

"Hmm," Scylla started. "No." She said and looked away.

"What?! Why?!" Gwein said stomping a hoof down.

"I don't know, I just don't." Scylla replied, she hid her face from him as it flourished into a deep red of a blush.
Gwein sighed silently.

"Ok, but if you ever change your mind..." He said and began to walk to the lake.
Scylla looked back at him and smiled while he wasn't looking. She was happy that he asked and she was hopping he'd ask again.

After a couple of hours passed, Gwein showed up in view. He walked slowly, but confidently, towards Scylla. She looked up from grazing and stared at him. He was wearing flowers. Flowers in his mane, flowers in his tail and he was holding flowers in his mouth. Scyall's mouth slightly dropped open as he walked closer. He set the flowers down by her hooves and smiled. "What do you say we go on that date?" He said.

Scylla rolled her eyes. "No." She said looking at him.

Gwein sighed and looked at her real hard. "I will win you over." He said as he ran off to figure out what to do next.
Scylla chuckled and continued to graze.

About 2 hours later, Gwein returned for the 3rd time. This time he carried a basket of Bertie's and yummy fruits. On his back was a kitten and he had ribbons and roses wrapped around himself. He opened his mouth and Scylla immediately cut him off. "No," she said as he stopped in front of her. He dropped all the stuff at her hooves and looked at the ground. He was wry determined to win her over he just had no idea how. He looked at her then walked off, without saying a single word.

For the forth time Gwein showed up. He was dancing his way over to her as he brought her an animal band. They tweeted their flutes and banged on their drums. They played soft magical musicx but something happened and one of the band players slipped. Crashing into Gwein. He lost his balance and backed up into the other band players. Their instruments flew in the air crashing into one another as the whole thing turned out o be a bid mess. The strings to the gituares wrapped around Gweins legs and the drum crashed on his head, he tripped and rolled down the hill and ended up at Scylla's hooves.
She stared at him for a long time before bursting into laughter. She helped him to his hooves and pulled the drum off his head. She picked up a flower from his second visit and put it in his mane. Gwein smiled, his face red with embarrassment, as he picked up a rose. "Scylla," he started.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"Will you go on a date with me, please?" He asked holdin out the rosé.

Scylla smiled. "Yes." She said gladly taking the rose.

She reminds me of fire like I remind myself of the phenomenon. We are subtle, unrecognizable with one glance, yet unforgettable after a brief analysis. We are sneaky like ghosts and foul as ghouls. We are rigidly unyielding in a certain light, but compassionate in a dimmer setting. She is the color of rosy embers embedded in melting snow, and I...I am the smoking ruins of the wood under the winter sunset.

Together we are burning snow, a chilling flame that fails to warm the heart.

I have to admit, now I'm scared, even as I encourage her youthful trot through the ashes, our hooves dyed a murky black. We shouldn't be here; this place, so desolate and still, rejects our presence. It knows. But...just what does it know? We weren't directly responsible for its destruction. It was just one rather loud stick I snapped, startling that young human into hysterics. It wasn't me that threw the lantern at the tree and turned my back as it caught fire.

Then why am I so nervous?

She turns to face me, and her expression loses its carefree appearance. "Spark, why so sad? It's places like this that need our happiness."

I shrug and gently dig at the charred remains of the forest. "It's...difficult to be happy in a place so dark and miserable." I glance up as she walks toward me, her face once again kind.

"One Winter Spark," she says, "when will you live up to your name? Rise with the sun and give this world new life. You'll only snuff yourself out if you keep moping like this." And she slams into my shoulder as she races past me, a white-crimson bolt against the black landscape.

It takes me a moment before I'm trotting after her, considering her words and wondering how she does it. How does she make me snap out of it? How does she move like a magnificent solar flare against the dark sky? How does she recognize my other side, the one that gives rather than takes...?

I believe I see. We may be burning snow, but we’re not entirely chilling. We don’t always have the qualities of darkness, but we don’t always shine with brightness. We are burning snow, chilling flame that’s charged with resurrection.

We are the old age, but we are the new age.

I speed past the sun, eager to be the first to ignite this new era as Prometheus did long ago. “Welcome,” I say. “Welcome!”
