Poem/Art/Story/Poem: It was another slow day. Not a single fish had even done as little as bump the string, so I decided to pack up and call quits. As I began packing, I saw something thrashing in the water closer to the shore. It was too large to be a fish; all this fish in these waters were small. I started the boat up and got closer, and as soon as I did the creature began to thrash around even more. 'Maybe the motor scared it?' I though, quickly shutting of the noisy motor on my old boat. I carefully climbed out of the boat and into the shallow water near the shore, and saw it was some cat-fish hybrid. I tried my hardest to calm the creature down so I could free it, but the poor thing wouldn't stop freaking out. I let out a sigh and pulled out my pocket knife, keeping the blade closed up for the moment. "Hey there, I'm going to need you to calm down so I can get you out, okay? I promise I won't hurt you." I whispered to the trapped creature. As if it understood me, it stopped thrashing and looked at me with pleading aqua eyes. I smiled faintly and began to cut at the ropes, making a large hole for it to get through. As soon as I put up my knife it darted out and dove deep down into the water. When I turned around, I was suddenly pushed back onto the shore! When I was able to focus, I saw it was the creature I had just rescued. It had a silly, lopsided grin and it's eyes were bright and mischevious. As I took a closer look at the creature, I remember seeing it on t.v. "You're a Fishkat, correct?" I asked. It shook it's head yes, and I smiled. "Well, Mr....?" It pouted and shook it's head back and forth, and I giggled a bit. "I'm sorry, Miss Fishkat. Do you have an owner?" It shook it's head no once more, which filled me with joy. "Would you like to have one?" Her eyes brightened once more, almost sparkling. She quickly shook her head yes, and I gave her a light hug. "Great! Since were gonna be friends now, how about a name? What do you think about Alice?" She rubbed her face against mine, and I took that as a yes. "Okay Alice, let's go home."
Extra: Alice is full of energy, and a bit mischevious. She has a bit of a temper, and isn't afraid to show how she feels. Even so, she's very loyal to her friends, and always tries to make them smile.
