What Is Serenity Shelter?
Serenity is a dog rescue. We rescue dogs of all kinds and rehabilitate them to be able to be adopted. Not all dogs have a nice past, such as just being given up to the shelter because their owners couldn't afford to care for them. Some are abandoned. Some were left for dead. But each one is special, and each one is full of love and ready to share it. We give the dogs the best care we can provide, but nothing beats a home that they can call their own. So are you ready to adopt?

-We don't know much about this guy. He was brought in by a family who found him eating from a spilled garbage can. They caught him and gave him to us. Now healthy and happy, he needs an owner.

Jake's mother had grown up in a loving home but had never been spayed, one time she got out of her owner's house but came back safely. It turned out she had mated with another dog though and a while later she had puppies. When the two puppies where only one day old their mother's owner gave the mother and the puppies away to a shelter, which luckily was Serenity Shelter. The dogs got a nice foster home and Jake grew up with the foster owner, his sister was adopted when she was young, and the foster owners fell in love with the mother (who got spayed a while after Jake and his sister were weaned) and adopted her.
As Jake grew older though he started to get bored because the foster home did not give him as much exercise as he needed, one day he saw an open door an bolted. The foster owner tried to catch him and was very confused why the dog didn't return. They had known he was high energy and did take very good care of him but it turned out that he was higher energy than a normal pit bull.
Jake enjoyed his run outside until he got hungry. He tried to head back home but he had ran so far he had trouble remembering were it was so instead he went to find shelter. During his walk toward some nice shelter there were many puddles but he turned down the yucky water. Soon he was thirsty though but he only found dirtier water than he originally found, eventually he decided to drink it.
Jake went to sleep in a little corner in an alley while his foster home panicked and searched for him. In the morning he began to eat food out of a trash can, that is where he was found and he was returned to the shelter and now Jake is still looking for a loving home again.
I found Jake and fell in love with him, I now am trying very hard to adopt him <3

Backstory: JD was a good family pet but when they moved out to a new area the landlord made them get rid of JD, thinking it better to dump him on the streets than to put him in a pit hating shelter to be put down they left him abandoned and confused.

Backstory: Loki came from an abusive home. Often, he would get in the way to protect the 3 year old girl in the home, only to receive blows.Because of the beatings he would receive, Loki suffers from brain damage, and has acquired epilepsy. How Loki got away, was that he had jumped his fence, never to return. This was 2 months before he was found. Every now and again, Loki suffers from nightmares from his old home. He finds himself feeling sad, wondering what has become of his best friend, the little girl.

I got the idea for his story from a pitty that recently passed at the shelter I volenteer at. His name was Loki </3
