Reason:

The reason why I chose this song, Is that I picture the character to be a hopeless romantic, however he gets caught up in what hes doing he often forgets about the other. He would be clumsy and a little too honest, as well as dramatic so despite yearning for romance he just cant seem to get his finger quite on it.

Reason: This awesome song, High hopes, perfectly describes Slate's attitude. She has high hopes for everything - even if everything seems to be falling apart for her, which things often do, the world still spins. "When it all comes to an end, the world keeps spinning around". I'm thinking maybe if I get to develop her history, someone close to her will die, because it says something like "the spirits of all those who have come and gone visit me" in the song somewhere. It also somewhat describe reflection on her past, and I hope to develop that if I happen to win her.
